Seconded. Please HT, please.

I know how you feel about community, but Range channel is used as a "party line" too much of the time. You can't hear anything else.

At a minimum, give us a volume slider for each channel!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Yes this would be very useful.  We also need permanent squelch for individuals.  And I think it would be a really great idea if AH automatically squelched anybody who typed MISSION in all caps (well maybe it should just squelch them on all channels except their squad channel).

I rarely use the squelch specific user feature, so I don't feel that a permanent squelch list is that neccessary, I may have used it twice in two years.
But there are times when the local vox traffic volume is insane, it reaches levels that prohibit squad communications.

This is why I would like the feature added.... To serve my own personnel agenda LOL

After taking several days off from flying in AH I had the day off and decided to fly a few quite sorties between honeydo's and dogwalks.. while peacefully b-n-zinig a field precap several of us ended up chasing a spit, when I realized it was 3 on 1 I pulled out of the pursuit without firing a shot, the tail of the spit came off
and the spit tumbled to the ground. I hear on range channel some child yelling "shrecking Ikon whyd you fire on a tailless plane"
I ignored it and moved on... Again I hear " Ikon shrecking this and Ikon shrecking that" then I finally asked what the problem was? the child explained that he thought it was bull**** that I had shot at a tailless enemy plane, I explained that I still had 100% ammo load and hadnt fired, it must have been lag.... The child finally apoligized half heartedly I might add but at this point the Dog walk looked much better...
Several pilots were yelling at me before I finally yelled back at and explained the problem was him not me but it felt like the fricken spanish inquisition....
Just one example of why a range squelch feature would be good in my opinion...

I disagree with this.

If a range vox squelch were added range vox would cease to be useful.

Why give a warning about a fighter diving on a guy if there is a good chance he won't hear it?

And that has a ripple effect.  The more people that don't use it, the fewer people will try to use it, and then even fewer people will use it, repeat.

It is only useful as a tool if the majority of people can hear you.  When that ceases to be the case it ceases to be useful.

What you are requesting here is essentially removing range vox from the game.

Permasquelch is a different issue and I agree with you on that.

I would rather have someone yell obscenities at me over the range channel, than listen to the chatty kathy party line conversations.

I dont like either especially when it interfers with squad vox...
My current choice is to I guess turn off sound altogethor?!
at that point if it bothers me so much I would just cancel my account! But ya know it doesn't hurt to ask for the feature and hope that it is implemented soon!

Yup pretty much!!! one can only pray that it happens sooner then later...You mean that now pilots could bore their squads with trivial giggles and yuck fests rather then using range to subject a forced audiance to listen to the garbage... ohhhh the horror......

Think about this in the current squelch state I have to work 5 times harder to squelch 5 players as it would take 5 players to change a single channel setting... Now put 10 loud obnoxious players in range talking about cow miking and pig rodeos are macho... I have to scan the player list for 5 minutes just to find three of the names that I caught by chance at the top of the screen, seven more I have missed the name in the top and cant squelch for several more minutes until they get a chance to giggle, then I can possibly add them to the squelch list.
Using the current squelch choice from the player list is impossible to be effective, forcing many players to change a single setting is much more realistic.

But a permasquelch option has serious merit!!

I want to drink beer on the climb out to alt, not spend all night squelch single names from the player list...

1K0N,

No it doesn't hurt to ask and I really wish people would observe basic courtesy and not cuss up a storm.  Instead you get called a wuss or care bear or some other derogatory term if you ask them to address their problem.

But coming from a non-squad point of view the range vox squelch would heavily negatively affect me.
