According to Hannu Valtonen's "Messerschmitt Bf 109 and the German War Industry" (ISBN 951-95688-7-5), many of the 109 G-4's were equipped with MW50. The designation was G-4/U3. These planes were mostly used for recon.

The first unit to receive 109G4s was III/JG53 during october 1942.  A total of 1302 G4s were manufactured, most between september 1942 and june 1943. The last ones were built during december 1943.
