The 339th FG was formed just over a year ago.  A new squad with all NEW players. ROOKs were the sorry underdogs.  We joined the ROOKs.  Seemed the thing to do.  Now ROOKs are not the underdogs.  When I think about changing countries for numbers balance I worry about attitudes like Grizz's!  "Two fields in the Corner".  Isn't that H2H?  Is it attitude Grizz, or Sour Grapes?  Grapes do go sour in those Tanks. It's the heat ya know ;)

Some Sundays do become akin to a "Baby Seal Clubbing".  I think most Rooks hope that both Bish and Knits will react in kind to our RJO approach.  Get organized!  Get it together and come kick our butts!
It was amazing to see how country numbers and balance changed once the Rook RJO's emerged.  I will say it is very fun to be a small part in the Rookdom machine when it gets rollin.  No drivel on country channel.  All business, All coordination, All for One and One for ALL.

NB, don't climb.

You'll usually find some like minded low flying folks and start having a good fight or two away from the hordes.

The high-altitude-brain-damaged guys (as we used to call SR drivers ;) ) will come down and try to cherry pick you while you're busily engaged with a few others.

If you're not totally involved and see them coming, it's easy to dodge 95% of 'em. If they actually get you, who cares? I mean it's basically a vultch..... let 'em zoom back up chortling about how fabulous it was to actually kill someone that didn't see them.

You may get a crack at 'em after they B&Z a while; most of them go to the well once too often.

These whiners are some of the biggest jokers I have ever heard from. Where was the whining when Knights were desending down South from the Norteast corner of the map on Saturday? I didnt here a single whine from Bish as they pummeled my squad at A114 on Friday. Oh I guess hordes are in the eyes of the horders huh?

I think Zazen says it all.  Oz is a well thought out map not easily taken by a hord alone.  You need to take that high alt base in the rear, once you have that it's all over!  When the Rooks were low in numbers they recruited.  Guess it worked, go figure?

Back to the post.  Oz is a great map and the fact it can be reset is a testiment to the design.  Way to go Fest!

If you're looking for that perfect 1vs1 go to the dualing areana.  If you want real plansets, early war or late war try the Special events or the Combat Theatre.  If you want lots a guys in lots a planes with an unpredictable balance of numbers or planes, I give you the Main!  The Main rules!  Sorry to the whiners who are excellent sticks but get caught once in a while in the Main and think they should come to the BBS to voice their complaints.  Or is it just that the whiner's hord isn't on tonght?  lol

The hordes are here to stay, that is the way the game is.  The best thing to do is learn how to beat the hordes.

First thing you need to do id throw your vanity to the side and not give a f u k if you die, its a game.

Second thing is learn how to reverse your high alt dweber enemy.

Third when you log on go strait to the largest enemy dar bar you can find at about 5k in a spitV and pratice fighting while being outnumbered.

Fourth take a deep breath and have patience.

If you follow these simple steps in time you will find that you are surviving the unsurvivable and then your hooked.

Toad is right, last night we were upping in at least 4 to 1 odds.  Yeah we got killed alot, but we killed alot too.  Ok I got killed alot Toad and the rest just kept killing everyone. :D  What a blast tho -everyhwere I looked I was dodging someone and killing someone else.

If your looking for the heart racing, palms sweating yank and bank, edge of your seat Air Combat, this is one way to find it.  Plus you'll never whine about hordes again.

On the other hand if all you want to do is pound sand then fly offline.:D

If all you want to do is fly around and fight for kills against a bunch of green guys, join the rooks. :D  Just kidding Rooks.

It’s this simple,

A military force gathers up most of its forces to attack at a certain time and takes all the land...(The game objective)

THE Loosing opponents whine about that >>>....IT’S WAR

Toad...

I was flyin that way more often. Then, a few weeks ago, my dam joystick started spiking again. I never was a great knife fighter, with a spikey stick, i spend more time recovering from accellerated stalls than fighting :(. Oh well, I still enjoy my Sunday evening Call of Duty sessions :).

It's all a matter of preference Zazen ol' friend. If you look around the arena you'll see players doing many different things... things that they enjoy. I don't care much for organized play. And though it looked like I was complaining, I wasn't really. Those who like stomping the heck out of the entire arena enmass are perfectly fine. I don't care. I was just explaining that this is why Knits don't unite for the greater good. We're not playing that game. It is a shame though, when we want a couple hours of fun, to find our part of the arena reduced to a few bases totally capped.

No, H2H is two players. All that is needed to have fun is a bunch of players split into two teams and something to fight about. The keyword here is "fight".

You needn't worry about us. The Knits are having great fun, but not doing the things you enjoy, like the RJO thing. It's a big arena. You can do your own thing, but don't expect the rest of us to join in. We have our own games to play. My only complaint about how you play is that it interferes with other players' fun after you've screwed up the entire arena. And it would be nice to have radar sometimes... but I'm not complaining.

The key phrase in the above that is at the root of all this is "The game objective". In AW there was no game objective defined by the game provider. It was left up to the players to set their objective, and many objectives could co-exist. As a result there were many conflicts going on all over the arena. When they changed the game to allow base capture, that's when the problem started. Now by providing this objective, HiTech made the problem much worse. But then, it's his game and he can do as he wishes.

Well, to each their own but Aces High as it pertains to the MA is a TEAM game. What you described as your pattern of play doesn't sound like team playing at all. What Rooks do on Sunday night is just quintessential team play.

I understand that some perceive Aces High countries as merely 100+ individuals pursuing their own selfish goals, but don't expect any sympathy because the MA environment is not to your liking when you decide to log. Simply put, a country that plays like a team gets the luxury of a MA more to their liking than a country that does not, to expect otherwise is rediculous. How this is not as obvious as a dog's balls to everyone is beyond my comprehension.

Having the FB, the Damned, and the MAWs on Knits is a crime punishable by the horde.

Send them away to Bish, my Knittish friends, and we Rooks will start spanking the Bish.
