People naturally assume that most other people think and behave as they do.  For example: More than anyone thieves lock and secure everything they own or have stolen.

If you assume that most folks, ”In "real" life are all nothing as they appear in here.”, I think that says much about your personality and way of thinking.

Humans enjoy the feeling of being more successful than one another. Whether this success is based on money, popularity, or being a tougher man than the next, its all about fragile egos that cannot take defeat.

I agree, think most of us are pretty much just ourselves in here.

I dont know bout that.
I mean I dont think the bravado is as strong in person.

Think about it a 10 year old kid can sit at his keyboard and say he is going to kick your butt.
Now you really have no idea weather to take this threat for real or as a joke cause to you you dont know If its an adult making it or indeed the 10 year old.

And safe to assume If the same kid did the same threat to you in person you would just laugh at him and shrug it off.

if anything I may be nicer and choose my words more carefully, since they are written and archived, rude or abusive things  are there for quite awhile and can come back to bite you in the ass.

in this 'world' people have the option to run a simple search and throw your words right back in your face.

they can also look at your comments on may subjects, its much easier to spot trends in peoples personality.

on the upside, you also have the option to just 'disappear' and come back as somebody else, when you've gone far enough that nobody wants to put up with your crap any longer.  some people need this option more than others.

So why Is it?

You're kidding, right?  In my opinion, in the last two weeks, you have instigated more hostility in the O' Club than anyone else.

The danger of getting a black eye is greatly reduced in here. Also the normal social constraints are really suppressed as very few of us "know" each other. There is little or no consequence to being a jack*** in here, some people take advantage of that as an ego outlet thing, some for simple amusement, some probably in retaliation for other circumstances in the real world.

Hey, it's the intardnet.

It seems to me that most of the anger (real true anger not heated disagreement) is caused by you or directed from you.

You are the freaking link!!

Gosh...I think I'm fairly level headed here and in real life. I don't think I have portrayed myself (as some have here) as anything other than who I really am.

A lil hot headed in real life...and Here

Broke in real life...and here

Can't fly in real life...OR HERE   lol

And first to crack a joke or 2 and even poke a lil fun at whoever every now and again.

I think for the most part I have been polite here..and Im even MORE polite in real life.

So why Is it?
Is It a situation that it can be done therefore it will be done?

I am assuming that for the most part people in here are adults.

But on any given day you will see a band of usually the same group of people all going after someone  like pirahnas.

So what Is It In the human mind that makes people act in this way?
Is It insecurity?
I mean I have always been of the mind set that I pride myself on doing the exact oppisite of what the "IN" crowd does.
Kinda a lone wolf approach to life.

To have a set of convictions and to stay true to them no matter how un popular it may make me in the world around me.

I see a few Like minded people in here .
One that stands out Is Bodhi.
By golly he say what he means and means what he says.

But for the most of you I fear this is not the case.

Now lets ask ourselves why we behaive the way we do in here.
As I feel very strongly that In "real" life we are all nothing as we appear in here.

And before you say O here he goes with another experiment LOL.
Well it's not  it's just an honest question.

Maybe I spend too much time thinking of these things i dont know LOL.

But I think some of you must have wondered the same thing form time to time.

Anyway If any of you have anything usefull to add I welcome it.
If at all possible let's try to remain adult in this thread as I think It might be inlightening.

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl  he doesn't get it

Having met a significant number of AH BBS posters, I agree with Iron.
