K, I'm really, REALLY, getting tired of all this talk about bombers. Bombers can fly to high, bombers guns are too deadly, bombers guns have long range, bombers are to tough, bombers are to fast, whine whine whine whine whine. First off, do any of you know how freaking hard it is to fly a buff? Well do ya? As some of my old buddies know, I flew "buffs" 99.999999999999998888119% of the time. Right now it is TO EASY to kill a buff. I mean I watched a video (not telling where from) of a squad, and the guy that was filming it shot down 6 buffs in a row. He got pinged at least 5000000000 times, but took almost no damage. (lost his rudder) Anyway, my time is short, so I'll say this quick. Stop complaining about the bombers. I mean buff driving is already hard, and you guys don't need to make it harder. I don't wanna come back on and see that it only takes one hit to kill a buff. Hey wait, IT DOES ONLY TAKE ONE HIT TO KILL A BUFF!!!!! (don't know how many times I've been killed by one hit) Anyway I'm starting to confuse myself. 8^/

toodles all

Yes, I know what it is like to fly a buff. Check my scores last tour and you will see I spent 20-30% of my time in them. I still think they fly too high. Of course now we have the P38, and there are reports of them reaching 50K...

The rest of what you say I totally agree with.

hehehe At least someone agrees with me. About the Alt thing. Which do you think I would do, fly nice and low so you can shoot me down, or fly nice and high, so you have to work to get me?   I will say this, I would rather punch my though a dogfight than fly high, better chance to get a kill (or get killed  ). Anyway HOPEFULLY, my account should start MONDAY!!!!!! I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!   Anyway the MAD BOMBER will be coming to bomb a base near you.

Yep, have to agree with you there BC.  I often have a good run up from a far base, trying to make height and still hard work trying to get through, and a lot of time!  Couple of shots on my rudder and then you're out!

I don't fly the buffs much, but they do fly too high for their missions in here. Of course, once they add the varying winds, that will change. Thats been my only `Whine'. Of course, I would also agree with your `Whine' that buffs are too easy too kill. Based on what I have read, they should take alot more punishment before they go down.Of course, maybe that is what will have to happen when they are forced to lower altitudes to get any kind of bombing accuracy. Flying lower, will IMHO, also mean that fighters will be more willing to escort buffs. However, the Rook mission I flew on, we flew as a group at about 22K. It was a blast. Hopefully winds will be implemented with tougher buffs. Or maybe they will put in Mossies. I would like to fly one of those =-).

Sun- Like I always say, Alt is a "Buffs" best friend. Besides AIM'L 9's and HARMS's, Alt is a bombers best friend (lol)   . Wait did I just repeat that? Anyway I agree on the damage thing. I mean only a few hits to a wing and you're gone. And you whiners out there can say it was cannons, or the fuel tank exploded, but you know the 17 could take WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY more damage than it can in this game. Oh god, I'm confuseing myself again............. ahhhhhhhhh..........*brain fart*.... ah there it goes. Anyway I'm just try'in to make life a little easier for all the Buff pilots out there.

I like the settings just the way they are.  I love the gunning setup, and it's a huge improvement over brand W.  Saying the buffs fly too high is now no argument with the introduction of the P-38.  Offline, I got a 38 up to 48,900 feet.  Have you ever seen any buffs THAT high?  Anyways, the buffs have to climb for hours to reach the 30-35k altitude needed for HQ strikes.  I think these hours of bordeom pay off by the fact that they're hard to touch at that altitude.  A buff at 20k over the HQ has no chance.  I think something that the fighter jocks don't understand is the frustration of climbing for hours in formation just to be killed by a few pings by a fighter that reached you in 15 minutes.  With the 38 it's only a matter of planning to get the altitude you need to intercept buff strikes.  If you ignore that blob of red headed for your HQ untill the last minute, you don't have any excuse for being shortchanged on altitude.

No Otto, count your blessings

I'd be fairly happy with the structural limits on the buffs if they'd put the teeth back in me .50s
I'm sick of pouring a couple hundred rounds into a bandit (with good conns, no packet loss) and they kill me then fly off undamaged.

bombers should carry 9 bombsinstead of
only 6 ...WHY !!

1)it take for ever to climb at 35k
2)one shot and your dead
3)now come the P38

Definitly Aces High is not a bomber's game
I am prety sure that a B17 usely carry more
than 6 bombs ha ha ha ha RIDICULOUS

But it's a fun place to be and play with other kids

I only fly bombers online and they are not strong enough.

I also stay within historical altitude limits, bomb from 23 to 28K and climb like hell after I get light, to no more than 39,900 ft, close to the operational ceiling of the B17.

Trying to keep any sense of historical accuracy is difficult when the guys shooting you down all fly US planes which has been mostly the case since the Cannon Corsair and now the P38 hit the hanger.

I could sometimes escape the Corsair at altitude but the P38 may cause one less HTC account soon.

Bomb accuracy has been decried ad nauseum since day one as well as the counter argument about bomber numbers conducting the raid( usually fewer than 4) so I will let that one alone, HTC will strike a balance and bomber pilots will stay or go.

I am sure that some guys take the bombers and fighters as high as the game will let them, if they exceed published ceilings that is cheating and a personal decision.

B17s are high altitude bombers so to the guys who want them all at 20,000 ft so you don't have to wait so long for your bomber kills I say, get real!

HTC has a very good game going here, I really like what they have done and if I were a good fighter pilot I would probably get out of the bombers and have a great time getting shot up.

I am looking for good bomber time in an online arena and it is not, unfortunately, happening here but it is still early and can only get better, right?

One 30 dollar bomber pilot account will not even be missed but I do not think I am the only dedicated bomber pilot rethinking Aces High
