first off, maps with randomly placed tiles are ugly, round them off or something. Try and make them look realistic unless it is a FFA map.

There are 2 approaches on cliff making.
1. select an area, hold shift and start clicking using right button on mouse.
2. make a bmp of your map, color in elevations (black and white). The lighter the color the higher the elevation. Set a light color by a dark color and you have a cliff. Save it as a  greyscale, 256 color(8bmp). Open TE, File>import

depends on how much of a curve ya want. think of it as a graph. Give it a slope of 1, 2, 1/3, etc. go up 1 over 2, up 1 over 3, up 3 over 1, etc. dont just have them stay in a straight horizontal or vertical line making box-like shapes.

HTC, Built in to the TE how much "sharpness" to want in your mountains.
I forget how it works ,but you can make very smooth hills. Maybe someone else could explain how it works, but it's there.

You cannot round off the tiles, when I say dont have square maps I mean dont just randomly place areas of tiles, looks bad and I think its a waste of room on my computer to download. In your map you have that ring around the 3 rectangles, thats what I meant by rounding it off.

To get smooth hills use a good paint program, I use the spray paint tool and just lightly add layers as I go. the more shades of grey the smaller the incline is to the peak. If you go from white suddenly to black you will have a cliff once you import the bmp. Dont forget to save it as a greyscale or it will look pointed and less realistic.
