Joshua:  Would you not rather play a game of chess or checkers

No I would like to play global thermal nuclear war.

Sorry wargames was on the other day!

I think a nuke sim would be kind of cool.  I'm sure there has been some in the past but one w/ today's graffics would be cool.

You've obviously never reloaded a muzzle loading gun from the civil war era..

It takes atleast 8 secs..

Do it underpressure, on a re-enactment battle, and count 1 one thousand, other wise if you talk 1 2 3 4 it's prolly more like 14

A trained soldier in the American Civil War was expected to be able to fire three aimed shots in one minute. That is using the "load in 9 times" movements. Even by jamming the ramrod into the ground between shots for faster access it still takes far greater than 8 seconds. Now, that is assuming the soldier is equipped with the standard issue rifle using paper cartridges. I'm sure some of the single shot breech-loaders could sustain a much higher rate of fire, but they were more likely found in specialized units (Berdan's Sharpshooters for example) and alot of the Federal Cavalry had breech-loading carbines.

Heck, I've fumbled around trying to get a cap on longer than 8 seconds before.   :)

Regardless..... I'm not waiting that long for my gun to reload.  Give me whatever machine or gatling guns they had in the 1860's.
