...Just on my shift last tuesday Finnish ATC system hanged... had to order 1 plane shut down and slot allocation messages swarmed my message panel... had to write all strips by hand.

Didn't like  a bit.

This kind of thing happens at Chicago O'Hare just about every week.  I think they still use flares and signal lights there.

Maybe this is part of something bigger...much bigger, like maybe AH2 is gonna get an ATC system. Yeah thats its....he was just testing the code on the brits system so we dont have to beta test it :) I firmly belive that its Pyro tho, Hitech looks way to cute and fund.

Apparently it was at West Drayton and not Swanick.  It was the computer system that printed out all the paper route tags for the controllers - info of the flight etc.  There was a 2 hour delay whilst they manually written all the flights down.

Of course that's what we've been told, rumour has it they tried AHII and they got a CTD! :)

Rumor is their computers were using the old Ultima Online servers which explains the system crashing.

The system, built and programed in France, had a minor problem today when Lufthansa sent a flight to London. The system surrendered.
