Map dots and dar
« on: June 05, 2004, 04:27:14 PM »
Yaknow .... I'd just assumed AHII worked differently and there was no map colors to differentiate friend from foe where dots and dar was concerned. But after flying with others who claim they can tell a friend from a foe on the map (via color) ... I gotta ask:

Why can't I? I mean ... I haven't gone colorblind or nuthin'. The icons still have different colors. Map dar and dots are black. I've been using intuition (which is fine) - but I either don't want others to have an option or I want one myself, dammit! :D

There is a setting where you can adjust the colors of friendly, enemy, wingman, mission and squad color dots.

There is a setting where I can adjust all sorts of colors just like in old AH ... like I've known from day one. But it doesn't adjust my dots or dar in AHII. If you think about it for a second, default settings should show correctly if it works, yes? It's been black every beta ... all sides. ;)

Arlo, others have had and cured that problem, possibly by updating drivers?  Maybe try doing a search of this forum.  Good Luck.  ;)

Flossy is correct, several people have cured this problem by updating their video drivers.

One relatively painless video driver update (VisionTek Xtasy 9600 256 meg which simply installed over the old driver) and I got the map colors back.

I kinda thought everyone having to deal with black dots was kinda cool - heh .... but since it was only me, glad it's working now.

ROFL!  :rofl  Nope, he's not away, though he hasn't played AH (still has an active account, though) for some time and never reads the forums.  Not that it would make any difference.  :)  :aok
