Home Cinema - LCD Projector?

I use to work as a engineering tech for InFocus Systems a while back.  They just started getting into the home theater part of projection systems about 5 years ago but have been one of the leaders in projection syestems for +10 years.
If money is an issue you could look into a refurbished projector that, in my opinion, could be as good or better than a new projector because most of the "bugs" have been found and fixed.

The 5700 might be the one I look at the most.  It's affordable, HDTV compliant.  InFocus is an excellent company.

that said, If you can afford the projector, bulbs shouldn't be an issue.  Kinda like putting Premium gas in a new Ferrari.

You can't go wrong with InFocus, they make just awesome projectors.  I would look at the SP4805 if you're on a budget.  I would say you're better off with a DLP projector as opposed to a LCD.  Both have their strengths and weaknesses but things like home movies most I think would agree that DLP is the way to go.. LCD is better suited for commercial applications IMHO.

Course if you really wanna go Gung-ho I gotta get this bad boy InFocus 777
3 chip DLP projector, this thing makes movie house projectors look cheap.  :)

You just don't want to know how much it costs. :)
