What teachers used to be like.

I hope she gets her job back soon. We need to let teachers have some control again so they can teach.

Washing a kids mouth out with soap means she knows how to teach?  I thought it meant that she knew how to discipline the old-fashioned way.

The problem(s) with public education are far from being that simple. I'm all for vouchers and/or privatization.

What's the difference?

She is teaching the kids there are consequences for their actions. A valuable lesson that most kids now a days never learn.

vouchers are the solution to a very serious problem that is getting worse every year.

you will never get vouchers if you vote in democrats.

It hasn't come up yet.   There has never been a bill that made it all the way to the pres for vouchers.

dude... are you saying that they are both equally likely to not sign it?   The republicans get no support from the teachers union anyway.   the dems depend on it as part of their coalition of the needy.

yes lazs.. that is exactly what I am saying.. Bush does not care and does not have the balls and kerry, dunno if he cares, but noway he has the balls..

Why do I make the statement about Bush not caring? Because he proved he did not after not funding NCLB..........

add:  Im not sure if I support vouchers or not actually. Privatization on paper always works.. But on paper you dont account for such things as power and greed.. So I do not know..

Do other world countries educate their young with less? I mean are our schools in america all THAT much different than the rest of the world??

Oh hell yes. Sorry for the profanity but many countries value education above petty politics. I know that in Japan kids wear uniforms and go to school six days a week. I'm also pretty confident that they tolerate none of the bs that goes on in our public schools. I bet the same is true for many other countries as well.
