Noone mentioned your frenchness, but you.  From my perspective, it appears you were hoping for it.

Gee, I really wonder how many don't know I'm French:D A guy named frenchy, with a blue/white/red Avatar... registered 4 years ago with 1700+ posts.

At anyrate, there were no malice in my thread, just to highlight what I think is a good idea.
If you're convinced these are demonstrative of the reasons for this war, then forgive me for considering you a lost cause and not challenging your beliefs., was solved a couple of answers ago.

yeah Frenchy, if you'd bothered litmus testing this forum you'd see it's clearly neutral and unbiased re: "the French".

Do they actually care about the men and woman who have died in Iraq or is this just a  'stunt' to further their political aims?

I really don't know.  But, I do know this, I'll remember the sacrifice made by those brave souls in a far away land long after this bunch has moved on to there next 'Media Event'.

Good call, Otto.

Plenty of these Activist Pinheads do nothing at these rallies but try to get their bananas wet in the hairy vegan muff, sure to be found at said events.

It's nice I suppose. Too bad they don't do something similar for all those that died at the WTC and other terrorists attacks and travel around.... you know, keep it all in perspective.

It would take a mighty big beach, Nuke. Plus, the WTC/Pentagon attacks are soooo 3 years ago (almost). Hardly worth our consideration these days considering the recent cataclysmic events like Abu Graib.

Now try and imagine what 3000 crosses would look like, ya know, the 3000 from the WTC on 9/11.   Of course, we could sit back and pretend there aren't any threats out there, but of course we do know better.

If you have not figured it out by now, there's no point in me going into it.

You're not going to listen and I'm not going to waste my time with another one of these pointless arguments.

Kudos to Santa Monica. Like it while it lasts, chances are some chicken hawk or "patriot" will destroy it before too long.

Terrible thing to say about a memorial.  I don't agree that people should use such things to make political statements but it seems to honor the fallen nonetheless.  Free speech

imagine what the one would look like for drunk drivers or... for all the soldiers killed on bases in the U.S. and overseaseas for the  last decade.

Maybe they can make an aids quilt too?
