Forget partisanship for a moment...
« on: June 16, 2004, 04:07:55 PM »
In an election year that seems like the Democrats could take the Presidency, how could they come up with such a terrible candidate?  Shouldn't they have dug deep and come up with someone good?  Or do you disagree, and see Kerry as the next great leader (snicker)?

Seriously, I raise these questions not to look at the politics, but the internal mechanisms of the parties themselves.  Any thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think anyone sees Kerry as the next great leader.  That's evident by his support.  He should be crushing Bush right now.

There's still plenty of time for that to change, though.

It just seems to be a re-run of previous elections.
Kerry sounds a tad more convincing than Gore though... the inventor of internet.

For both parties, the problems is, that the primaries turn into a 'Popularly Contest'.  The candidate chosen is not the one that has the best chance of winning.  The 'Smoke filled, back room' no longer matters.

It would be better for each party if the 'Pros' could select a candidate that was more 'electable'.

I know this sounds line Heresy, but it's the truth.

4 more years of Bush and all the "I would vote for Mc Cain if he ran" crowd will have to put up or shut up.

I personaly believe alot of the folks who claimed they would vote for him will change their mind when it comes down to it.

Sandman and MT,

kidding aside, but would guys really vote for Hillary?

Would it be a strong yes vote?

a reluctant yes vote?

a lesser or two evils vote?

a anyone but .... vote?

Let's just say that it's up for consideration. Until she voices a particular agenda or vision, there's not enough information for an informed opinion one way or the other.
