More Strat!

  Here`s some ideas that came to me last night. At the moment there is no real JABO mission for fighter bombers in the arena,and the B-17 can fly too high for effective fighter intercepts. I would like to see 88mm anti-aircraft guns modeled but be only player controlled. If possible make batteries of 4 guns controlled in the same fashion as the bomber guns.Place the batteries of guns in random locations around strategic targets and as protection for these guns use the player manned  M16 halftracks. This would give some defense against the high flying buffs and also be a  good target for  JABO attacks.This would have a desirable effect on strategy as a team wanting to destroy a countrys infra-structure would have to co-ordinate a JABO attack and buff strike to have a reasonable chance of killing the radar or other critical targets. It would also create a more realistic atmosphere for the bomber pilots as they would be dodging high altitude flak bursts <G>

That would be fabulous. What a break from furball hell. I can see it now. GRab a cooler, 12 little cold friends, and scan the map and sky's for those 30K buffs.

WHUUUUUUUMPH! WHUUUUUUMPH! sounds out of the sub-woofer as a streak of red shells goes up to meet the Buffs, exploding a nice black puff of smoke that throws shrapnel in all directions. Yup, thad be cool.

If AkWabbit did the sound right, I could have the police here within 6 rounds. Cool.

This brings up a interesting question. Would not this math/Art/code programing be much easier than say a simple plane? Hell, I have no idea, I'm amazed HTC can do what they have. It's really incredible. The point would be after achieving these things to this current state, is not a 88 lofting shells pretty easy in comparison?

That's got to be the best suggestion, yet! Wow..really! The only thing I would like to add is, ack ack are still IA and not players....hummm I'm just thinking aloud.
It would be even better if HTC could claim that every hit made was by another player on the web and not by some AI DEAD EYE. (MHO)

I really like the idea of player controlled ack-  no computers at all.  I would definitely do some target practice between flights.  If a field was under attack the call would go out on the country channel and whoever is available would move to the field and take a gun possition.  If it was as fun as shooting bandits in a B17 there would be no problem getting them manned.

Leave the 20mm/40mm AAA as is, (except that it's accuracy needs to be a LOT less)
Give us manned 88's against the buffs....

As a buff pilot, Just thinking about Torgue down there manning an 88 battery makes the  pucker factor rise about 90%.....

That's gotta be one of the best idea's yet! Would definately add some more atmosphere to the game! Puffs of smoke and shrapnel exploding all around. Also, make it so that if freindly fighters engage, the 88's better shut down or risk hitting their own fighters, that would definately add some atmosphere hehe.

Excellent idea..The coordinated ack battery one has to be a keeper..Course 88s work against tanks too...Wabbit we would nee a shrapnel on the fuselage sound too...
