Squelching CH1

I know HiTech likes having CH1 squelched, but I prefered to have the option to do it myself. When the nonsense gets out of hand /.squelch has always been good to me. The parade of guys saluting themselves is kinda silly.

Agreed, chan 1 never got to out of hand for me. Only one person has ever made my squelch list, whom shall remain nameless. But you all probably know who it is:D

the hordes of salutes are even worse than the political ranting that used to occur.

Now we have a horde of Self Saluting Morons!

We had Ch1 to start off with. Things were fine. NATEDOG was chatting on it ect... I still dont see what the problem is even after talking to HT personaly.

I can understand his concern for players seeing Ch1 and not wanting to come back. But I still dont see where people are abusing Ch1 right now.

Blah.

It will only cost you about 5 seconds of your life when you log in, is it that bad?  Does it ruin the simulation for you?  I am not trying to get in your grill, I just don't understand the fuss.  I use to get aggravated with ch 1 myself, and I would tolerate it to a point just so I could read the stuff I wanted to see.  I don't see a whole lot of diff between having to tune 200 or ch 1 being there when you log in.  Just that someone on either side of the issue will have to lose 5 seconds of his/her life when they log in. Big deal.

Well it must be somewhat of a big deal for HTC to spend the time to disable it from the text buffer right? Of course I could tune to 200 its easy, just wondering what was the reason behind this.

The only flaw in the CH200 plan is you do not know if the other plane is using 200. Maybe making 200 a default channel in the pulldown radio menu. Other than that I can see it working.

For the love of everything you find holy, put a stop the Salute Fest.

Channel 1 should be squelched by default.  Then tune it if you want.  If I still have to squelch the salute channel then it may as well be the old channel 1 channel.

Let's see what happens....

So you are upset because instead of choosing to squelch channel 1, people have to choose to tune to a specific channel to chat with people in other countries?  I don't see the big deal.  People tell those who don't like channel 1 to squelch it.  Now it seems that you don't want to spend the 5 seconds it takes to tune to channel 200.  Seems a bit hypocritical to me.  Besides, you only have to tune to channel 200 once.  It stays tuned when you log out and back in.  Those that wanted to squelch channel 1 had to do it everytime they entered.

BTW, I was a big talker on channel 1 (trolling, joking, chatting with others) and do miss it.  I just don't see the major problem with having it gone.  I tuned to channel 200 on the same radio thingamabob on which I had 1 tuned.

Oh well, my life will go on.  Somehow, I believe yours will as well.
