Though I hardly ever fly a goon, I feel goon pilots should get some recognition.  Field 240 Captured by Rooks  "Mathman"

I like flying the goon. Only if theres a good chance of capture though. There should be more perk points for it, like an M3.

lol...Ice, for some reason his name was the first to come to mind.  I do feel that Goon pilots are very patient & have earned the right to be recognized.

And got shot down 50 times trying to get there. If you like to capture bases then give them goon drivers credit.

Spoken like a true "Never flown troops in a goon to capture a defended base" fighter jock.

Let us see how your patience are after flying NOE for 1 1/2 sectors to get picked off by some goon hunter because the fighter jocks are orbiting the field looking for just one more vulch.  Then doing it again with the same results.

Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of good fly guys out there that work as a team and give their all to defend the goon.  However there is an equal amount of the other type.

Goon drivers however do get good perks for base captures.  They just have to land at a friendly base for the perk points.  They show up as bomber points as I recall though.

I agree, but it is the ground attackers, or "Jabos", who get the job done.

I've gone on several attack runs, and even in a fully-loaded P-47, it's very difficult to get out alive when there are 6+ GV's. I'd say it's more dangerous than a furball.

Still, the Goonies (lol) need recognition. They fly the slowest, most boring missions, and there's a great risk of death from the occasional La-7.

The job ain't done until the goon gets there, unless you have figured out how to capure the base with your P47.:p

It's easy to get out alive from an attack run. Don't go back and fight. But, that wouldn't be any fun.

But remember, the goons won't work without the jabos, which make captures possible.

I agree, goon pilots get hardly any perks or recognition for their efforts. They deserve a BIG WTG from all of us. If you see somebody flying a goon into a hostile area, escort them, help them out, they are the solutions to furballs for a base, they are the ones that get your radar back up and ruinning. :)
