Xargos,
You really on D/R in SC???????

I'm the D/R Sgt in NJ (Trenton). 20 years next month.

Just curious, not your everyday job, and I rarely run into people that would admit it!

But, like Connery said in The Untouchables (or something close to that effect).

The only issue that comes to mind that will be hard to resolve using a slower computer is ground attack. WB is the same way BTW.

I built a new box so it's not an issue for me any longer but during beta I was runnin a 1.2 AMD, 512 ram and a geforce 2 pro card. Fiddling I was able to play the game in the thirties. What's sacrificed is how close the ground objects are rendered. For ground attack, the distance objects are rendered while still having playable framerates would make it impossible.

If your a ground attack guy, I feel for ya. There is no way to tweek a low end computer to make it decent. ( if there is, I couldn't fiddle it )

I'm an air to air guy so it would have been fine for me without the new box.

20 years in this line of work?  So that means you have done a 5 year sentence so far.  Now thats a long time to spend in hell.  It sucks getting to know the guys then one morning you tell them to pack their thing, so they hand you stuff to give to the other D/R inmates.  Some of them I'm glad they are gone but others.....  Changes you don't it?

mmm Les Miserables....does have a certain ring to it.....course the irony is that I make narrow minded little people miserable rather than being miserable myself...but what the heck, no time to be pedantic about these things.

First off, fire that specialist.  Then go to Outpost.com  and look at one of their CPU/motherboard combos.  You can find some CPU/motherboard combos for under $100.  You might need some RAM too if but realistically, for under $300 bucks you can have a current system.

I run AH2 from a RAM disk so I get no "stutters" or "microfreezes" (see my thread in the bug forum on how to use a RAMdisk).

You ppl must have some Jurassic era computers; it's time to upgrade. If you can't afford to upgrade to a half decent computer ($500 perhaps) you can't expect to run newer games.

But by all means whine all you like ... it's quite entertaining.

Hmmm thanks Gunter...otw to find the thread on How to use Ramdisk.

Hey Shaden, send me an email, and we'll work out the details of our new *chough* super squad *cough*. I've got an email from another Euro-time player who's interested in joining. :)

Why won't whiners just quit? Do they have to make a scene while walking out the door?

Hey, you don't like it, you don't support it?

Fine, go quit. Been fun playing with ya.

There's never an end of generations of gamers who constantly look for better looking games, spend large sums of money to upgrade their systems, and set new standards to the gaming world.

If you can't adapt to that curve, sorry, but you go extinct. I feel sorry for this mass extinction, I really do, but dodos hardly have any place here.

So if you fell behind the curve, don't feel like to pay for an upgrade, then don't come dumping this bullshi* trash at us in General Discussions.

Mail a form of complaint to HTC and be done with it, petty people. Whining dodos are annoying the rest of the folks who did not fail to adapt.

Ok have to warn you though I'm hopeless at this squad business in 5 years and 3 games I've been in 2 squads and only lasted about a week in each of them.

Get another stick of 256mb memory and with your new video card you should be fine.

Does this look like the typing of a sociopath (or a 50 year old woman in the depths of an estrogen binge) to anyone else?

I have read the whole thread, your the only one to take offense to the subject. Perhaps you should just pass the offending threads on next time.
