They used ground ramps to load the cargo door sometimes.
The biggest thing I've ever seen loaded into a Dakota was a
jeep towing a 37mm AT gun.

Talking to the DC-3 guys who sometimes fly into my airport,
the cargo load is only 7000 lbs, way too light for any tank worth
the name.

I think before any big changes are made, little tweaks could be added to planes such as for the C47, when you open the doors, you can see the door open.  little things like that. :D

you can see it open, it goes inward so its not as noticable as a bomb bay door opening outside

It only transported raw materials.  Iron, steel, plutonium, tri-nitro methyl benzine, stuff like that.

Hahaha, like a C47 could ever take off with the weight of a tank inside.

Even the massive C-5 Galaxy can carry at most two Abrams tanks, and only with a greatly reduced fuel load.  Two abrams inside would be a cargo weight of about 250,000 lbs.  A C-47's gross maximum takeoff weight is only a little over 30,000 lbs, with an empty weight of 17,000 lbs.

I know Shermans were light, but if you can find one that weighs 5 tons and fits inside a Skytrain, then by all means.

:rofl
