The current UN SC:

Chile, China, France, Germany, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Brazil

With the US/UK tied up with Iraq, the Russians with the Chechens, the French, Germans and UK dealing with Iran's nukes.... who do you think will make the case in the SC?

I bet you can count on one thing; you won't see the Finns getting involved unless it is to criticize whoever does eventually get involved.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Well not my nerve mate, I served 1 year in Lebanon in the 80's and that was my work for the UN. (wont do it again it is not worth it, even if it gave me good money but that was not why I enlisted anyway)

What I ment was the the UN is totally usless for securety questions around the world as I said earlyer there is 5 nations that have the glory of veto right and they sqrew it up all the time.

UN is donig a fine job when it comes to health and education but thats it.

So the UN doesn't have a bunch of Black Helicopters ready to enforce One World Government?   I can never be sure if the loony right thinks the UN is too powerful or not powerful enough.

Bash?
What was your purpose with the obvious good ol' US does-it-all hint then?
Isn't that also classified as bashing of UN/rest of the world?

or... "you guys sound like you work for the useless UN or something "

You couldn't be much more hypocritical now

Of course vetos by US hasn't helped UN any more than vetos by russians.
So it's useless to fault only russians, when your leaders are doing the same.
Not a big wonder if UN is incapable of doing things when everyone is pulling the veto cards when approriate for their intrests.
If you cannot play by the rules you expect the others to play, it's useless to solely blame it on UN.

Same goes here.. whats the idea in telling others they're bad basher types, when you're doing the very same and even worse?

Rino,

Refer to above.

instead of seeing that the UN is sitting there twiddling their thumbs while thousands are slaughtered, you guys would rather try to blame the US, Russia, anyone else for the situation except those busy twiddling their thumbs...

if roles were reversed and the Christians were slaughtering the Muslims, there would be hell to pay...

Have you already forgot you came to blame UN first?
Guess you've also forget the US isn't doing much better at it.

So how exactly does bashing of UN and pro-US attitude help it get better?
Funny to see all these claims "UN sucks when it isn't doing anything, but US rules since I guess they will be the ones up to the task" - yet falling short of doing it.
Interesting how US is already hyped for things yet to be done and used as a cause to bash UN.. or EU. :D

Now even blaming other people for blaming US etc., while yourself being the loudest blamer

the US media isn't touching the story either, it's just Christians dying - seems the media and the left think the world would be a better place with fewer of them anyways ..

then drop the "UN sucks, US will be more up to the task" -attitude

Besides, do you expect to be able to help everyone around the world?

Theres many places alike Sudan, in africa and around the world.
It would require too much resources to help these countries become peaceful...
It's not enough to pour soldiers in there, it's not enough to go there, force them into peace and give them money.. the foreign forces would have to stay for years to come.

and to make Sudan peaceful, you'd have to make also neightboring countries peaceful and... well, their neightbours too.
Even if those would be already "peaceful", you still would be likely required to support them also, to prevent violence.

It's a whole continent which for many parts is in need of a help.

So tell me where from you're able to get all these resources.

Africa is so messed up place.. in many areas everything possible is totally messed up.

Alone Iraq is badly using up US resources and it's only a single country.

Try blaming everyone....

Cause its our laziness that brings us to the point of voluntary

ignorance.

everyone.....including you
