US can always make a war on their own, but never make a peace without help.

So I wouldn't underrate UN, if US isn't either capable of doing things.

Dunno Eagler the UN is haltred by all those loving veto countries that make the UN totally unsuccsesfully in doing the work it is supposed to do.

So for all those permanent moron countries that is there they make this organisation to stumble. The Veto right is just plain stupid.
And the nations is :

UK
France
China
Russia
USA

What goes for the other that get elected they dont matter much as usually.

I wonder who decided that Russia should get the veto once the USSR ceased to exist?

Except today you'd make most of the world pissed off and they'd be pissed off until the responsible people would be hanged or something. One peace deal and several new wars :D

Looking further, it appears that the oil companies operating in Sudan were primarily Canadian until 2000, when they sold out to Indian oil compaies who currently hold the concessions.

what nerve did I step on?

you guys sound like you work for the useless UN or something ...

I'm talking about SOMEBODY stopping a genocide in progress .. and with everyone sitting around on their hands AGAIN, my guess it will have to be big bad "most of the world pissed off and they'd be pissed off" US and her allies
