I understand JB, i've been there, hang in there kid. I'm not sure where you are, but I am just north of Boston, and we usually stay home on the holidays and grill. You are more than welcome to join us.

31 is a ****ty age to be single.

OK, you should have asked her what she ment and stopped the incident before it happened. Ugly scene avoided. No harm, no foul.

You might want to check out the local "christian" dating scene. Lots of churches have singles groups and most of them don't get high. 31 is a ripe age for dating.

Ive seen plenty posts like this one from you now JB73, its apparent that you are/feel lonly...

You mention that all your friends are married, have children etc, the thing is you have to make new friends... and thats final...

I know it gets harder and harder to make new friends the older you get but you have to try...

Cant you meet new friends thru your old ones thats in the same  situation you are?

Do you have any side interests besides computers? sports? (30 aint too old to join a "team" of sorts).

Can you take any "night courses" to learn stuff and meet friends at the same time?

Can you meet friends at work? any work mates that you can become friends with etc?

Cant you find a bar and become a frequent visitor (in your area) and make friends that way?

I dont know what i would have done if i lost my "core" network of friends...

Although I don't get to celebrate July 4th as Independence Day as I am not American....I too am alone.  The wife and kids are all in Vancouver.  They have been there for 10 days and will be back in another 10 days.

wooooohoooo

Naked AH2 flying, fried fatty foods, dishes piled up, no clean clothes and no desire to do laundry, no crying children, no changing diapers, copius amounts of internet porn, etc etc.

It is just like being a bachelor again.

Of course the place will be spotless when the wife gets home or I am in BIG trouble.

It is nice, but to be honest I have had enough already and am looking forward to having the family home.

Sound advice,  there's plenty of girls out there your age who by now have married a tard and left him.  They may be towing around one or two proof of experience packages but they can be fun also.  My brother (who is the complete opposite of me) does nothing but date these types of girls.  He's 44 now and has been doing it since his 20's.  He never gets married though.  He stayed with one about eight years.  They're out there, lonely and really needing male companionship and support.

Girls like to talk, many girls consider the best conversationalist he who says little.  start a conversation then shut up and listen intently muttering the appropriate wow, really? OMG! and you'll have all the companionship you'll ever want.  If you know what I mean.

Good hunting.

post some photos.

I know this feeling Curval, watch the movie "About Schmidt" w/ Jack Nicholson.  My wife didn't get it.  Most men will, when it's just the husband, the house becaise a war zone.  :)

My wife doesn't understand why men wait to "cram" and clean the house.  To tell her the truth though, I tell her "I don't know, but is the house the way you left it?"  "Welllll.....yes (this is as she is opening up closets, etc.).  "Then why ask me?".

Yea, my wife is under no illusions.  She wanted to clean the house herself before leaving but I told her to forget it knowing this would be a waste of time and that I would be going nuts getting the place ready before she returned.

So...the place was a mess the day she left anyway.  This way it will be nice for her to come home to a spotless house.

I actually started the job yesterday...out of necessity.  I went to grab some bread out of the fridge and the plastic bag was stuck to the shelf.  Something had spilled and was all over the shelves and underneath the lower drawers.  I removed everything and cleaned out the entire thing.  Looks brand spanking new now.  The wife will be pleased.
