I once did about 290 mph  in a custom Humvee built for me by the CIA while I was in Afghanistan.

In Texas, ran about 275 mph in a schoolbus on I-10. I was dressed like a clown and the bus was painted to resemble a police car...... I think that's the only reason I wasn't pulled over.

120 mph in my Golf. Which is all it will do really. downhill with the wind behind it.  115 mph on my Yamaha 350LC with a special sprocket fitted.  Never been faster on the ground. How about point to point speeds. I did 130 miles in two hours mostly normal roads with 7 or 8 towns and villages early in the morning.  65 MPH average speed.

147 in a 1986 Honda CRX Si. I have a friend who is a state trooper who clocked me at 130 when I passed him another night drag racing a then brand new 300ZX. Both times were on Hwy 80 headed west out of Selma, AL.

There is a straight section of the road that didn't have traffic signals on it then and we would start the race from a light on the edge of town and the stop point was a long sweeping right hand turn just about three miles away. He got the jump but I pulled him back in within 3/4 mile from the start.

Stupid is as stupid does and boy I am lucky to be alive.

Car setup was before all the "street racing" mods. I had 14 inch low profile Pirelli tires; ran 100 octane (it was cheap then around $1.30 a gallon) and had an air scoop of sorts that direct fed air into the filter. This was in 1989/1990 and the car never made it past 1992 when I teed a 1992 Acura that pulled across a red light in front of me.

I have scrap notes of these events I have kept over the past 40+ years.  These are being revealed to all the world all at once, by decade.  My nephew is also a AH2 flyer and he knows who he is, therefore, he is instructed that the following info shall not be mentioned to his mother (my sister) or his aunt (my wife) or his grandfather (my dad)....

1960's  pre teens/in the teens
Bought a minibike.  Removed the governor on the Brigg's and Stratton 4 Hp.  I could wind that eng up until it was self limiting when the valves would start floating.  32 mph as measured by the older boys who had them 80 cc monster mc's with a speedo.  I had the fastest one within a 6 house radius.  No brakes so Mom was continuosly po'd cuz I could wear off the bottom of a new pair of shoes in a week.

1970's  (end of the teens)
    1969 Ford 4 door Custom 302 Windsor 2bbl
110+mph  ..returning form work on Old LakeShore Road with all 4 windows open.  Head liner crashed down at 110 and hit me on top of my head.  Slowed down with a ent neck and pushed it back up.  Drove home and asked my Dad how come roof fell down when I was driving.  He explained the theory of how air traveling at a high rate of speed past a hole creates a vacuum. Then asked how fast was I going.  I don't remember having the privelage of driving anything for 2 weeks after that.

1980's  (graduate college get job and have a little $)
My first bike... Suzuki GS550ES..124 mph  wide flat open           14,100 rpm on LakeView Rd NY.  Let off throttle and sat up on bike.  To this day I have NO idea how I stayed on the bike.  I remember only hanging on by about 2 fingertips of each hand after hitting the air flow.

145+ in a race prepped Porsche 914 6 cylinder open top at an SCCA event at Road America, Elkhart Lake WI.  I wasn't driving I was riding.  The car had nothing down low in the rpm but once it came up on the cams at 6000 it set yur helmet back into the seat.  It could go around corners on rails.

1990's were slower for oppurtunities.  Got married had kids.
131 mph in a 1985 Buick GN.  My factory manuals said it was chip limited to 129 mph.  After installing a new replacement turbo I took it for a test run on Rt 481 Fulton NY.  13 psi boost for about a minute got me the 131 but I hadn't adjusted the waste correctly and something clearly wasn't right.  Never tried it again.

2000's
Went to a party and a friend of my wife's boy friend kept blatting over and over about how fast his Stage 5 modified Yamaha V-Max was.  OK OK so I told him I would take it for a ride.  Downshifting at 125 mph , passin cars and hitting 132 mph with A GEAR LEFT to upshift on rt 481.  Instant thoughts of how I could end up in jail for this -  or get killed by a chipmunk resorted me to the 55mph ride back.  He was right, I believe him.  I aint doing it again.
Somewhat routinely take the 94 and 04 Arctic Cats for winter rides.   Been 111 speedo/110 GPS on the 04 and just touching 115 mph on the 94.
