Here's some pics of our Boy Scout Summer Camp in Tennessee last month:

Dad and son

My home for 7 days.

I remember doing that stuff.

Tried my first cigarette at summer camp.  Great organization.  :D

The one in the red helmet looks kinda girly.

Camp Flaming Arrow - memories of diluted Kool-Aid and Paul McCartney "Wings" tunes played incessantly by the kitchen staff.

I used to love being a Cub, then Boy Scout. We had a huge scout ranch to go camping just a few miles from where I lived. I'll never forget our 1st Snipe Hunt. Had some great times. Learning all those knots came in handy when I joined the Coast Guard.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I remember summer camp.  We slept in army tents with wooden pallets for floors.  Spiders EVERYWHERE inside the tents.  Then we had these classes to go to everyday.  Kind of like a civilized boot camp combined with high school.

Her name is Laura. She's 17, and my son and the rest of the guys she was instructing, were totally enamored of her. She is a real cutie when the climbing gear comes off and she lets her hair down. Was funny watching all those hormone-driven teenage boys vieing (sp?) for her attention.

I remember that.  85 degrees and youre totally encased in your sleeping bag because the alternative is to sleep amongst the eight legged monsters.

They really don't make witches like they used to... either that or you have a few cement bags in that tent.

I was Order of the Arrow and a Life Scout, before I discovered girls and quit.

One summer at camp Tu-lakes (there was only one lake) we discovered that 'Off' worked kinda like invisible ink on tent canvas.  We were writing all sorts of filthy words and phrases on our tent then watching them disappear.

It rained the day our parents came up to get us. The Off had disintigrated the waterproofing on the canvas. All of our artwork magically reappeared in the rain. That sucked.

ROTFLMAO, great story MT! My son just got into the OA right before this trip. He's a Life Scout, and almost finished with his Eagle Project. Me, I never got past Second Class rank; was more interested in mischief and mayhem than merit badges.

LOL Munkii, I never noticed what this pic looked like 'til now. You're right, they don't make witches like they used to.
Actually, Ihad my boots turned upside down, resting on two large tent stakes to keep them dry on the inside. Does look funny though.:lol

Well, that takes a load off my mind.  I was afraid you had a member of the crew with a bit of a glandular problem!

17-year-old girl instructing boy scouts out in the middle of nowhere.  Either that's a girl's ultimate dream or worst nightmare. :p

"Here, let me cinch up that retaining strap right there...."
