The "New" GTO is based off of the Holden Monaro Coupe (Austrailian). I saw my first one on the road. I dont like it for 2 reasons.
1. It's too small
2. They should have put this engine into the Solstice.

Bit backward innit?? Aussie cars have been 'based' on American designs ever since the end of WWII pretty much.
The Monaro Coupe is just a two door version of the Holden Comodore, which is basically an Aussie adaption of a Buick design.
Even back when we did have real muscle cars, they were adaptions of American designs, the king of them all, the Falcon GTHO Phase III was pretty much a four door version of the Mustang when it came right down to it.
The original Monaros had a hell of a lot in common with contempory Chevys too.
