LOL I watched them release it live on TV dude. I don't need to read the article to know what they said.   You're highlighting what the democrat said.  He'd change his vote lol, yeah I bet most democrat Senators would like to take both sides of this issue with him, as usual.  Fact is the Senate got the same briefings the President did and came to the exact same conclusion.  Only now it's an election year and they'd rather use this to play politics while the nation is at war.   If we were duped by SH about his WMD program that's bad on our intelligence agencies and needs to be fixed. ( Ours and Britains both)  The war is still justified for many many more reasons than this one.

 I saw a great clip of Edwards today from Hard Ball back when we were about to start the war.  Chris Mathews asked Edwards if he supported going to war even without the UN's say so.   Mr. Edwards said he absolutely would.  Not an exact quote but it's late and I'm not going to look it up now.  I love how all these dems are trying to undo history about that vote.   It ain't gonna work....

Saddam no longer had WMD's? PLEASE.

Know that once a nation HAS WMD's they will ALWAYS have them. Iraq HAD chemical and biological weapons. Thats a fact. Ask the Kurds.

Study the Cold War. One of the major deterrents of the era was not that both sides would blast each other to pieces... but that even IF one side blasted the other before the other could react, the blasted side STILL had the capability to REARM and LAUNCH (underground missile and nuke building facilities could put together several dozen missiles+warheads in a matter of days and retaliate).

You dont need to have physical stockpiles of a WMD. Its the knowledge and facilities to make them.. the capability to make them that makes it dangerous.

And unlike nukes, bio/chem WMD's can be assembled in the 'target' country with far fewer risks of detection. Its easier to smuggle a small bag with ebola than a few punds of plutonium. If drug dealers get TONS of cocaine through into the US just think how easy it would be to smuggle biochem components.

Taking out this capability from the hands of Saddam and from a potentially hostile Arab nation is RIGHT in my book.
