Check Mussolini's starting moves.

And Hitler's too.

Watch out, gents, stay vigilant.

well... lately... if even one bus load full of colored folk breaks down it is allmost enough to declare the election null and void.

imagine if a few "select" polling places were disrupted.

A nuke goes off in DC and wipes out half of congress, the pres and VP, i think would be cause to delay the elections a bit to have new candidates run for office, prolly with a few month delay.

Many thing can happen that would be reeasonable to delay an election, couple more buildings in NYC toppling for instance.

Having the color code bar be at second to highest level would not be a reason to delay, another theatre of way would not either.

But a massive terrorist attack on US soil would be.

There will always be decisions made for political reasons, we ARE talking about Washington here. But if the decision to postpone the elections came up in the month or two before the election there would be more suspicions of political motives than there is talking about it this early.

If America was attacked on election day, how would that look for a safe america??

If America is attacked between now and election day, how would that look for a safe america?

If America is attacked again during Bush's term, how does that look for a safe america? If we are attacked again with anything even remote to 9/11, is that not enough reason to vote Bush out? Is this not proof that America is no safer now than 3 years ago?  Would this not constitute another failure on this administration's watch?

If we are attacked again, are you neos still going to back Bush and his policies?

how would you be able to compare?   I mean, we have never been in this position before and kerry has never been in power so how would you compare.

It would be just as easy and accurate to say "good thing kerry didn't get in and gut the military and homeland security"  even if, or, even more so if we were attacked ten times.

Not sure what you're trying to say. We were attacked multiple times with Clinton at the helm. What did he do to ensure a safer America? We voted him back in.

what good would a delay do?  you have to notify people so they can show up and vote, and this has to be very public knowledge.  so you find out about attacks that are planned and delay the election and the terrorists delay the attacks.

whats the gain? other than Bush being able to produce more BS "intelligence" and delay getting voted out of office.

I don't think that report said anything about delaying the vote to prevent attacks but rather in the event of attacks. With all the second guessing done over 9/11 he'd be very foolish not to consider contingencies during a time of great importance.

Non-issue.

dude... what would kerry do that would ensure that we were safer from terror than Bush is doing?   Would gutting ther military do it?   How bout getting rid of homeland security?   What exactly would he do?

guess we could nuke the jews... that might make people like us... no?  still envious?   we could start up a bunch of worthless and wasteful social programs like national health until our economy was wrecked and everyone had teeth as bad as the british and then I bet the euros would like us!   once we are as poor as them and as shackled then they will like us.

I think my point was more along the lines of if Bush has been in office for 4 years, 3 of which have been dedicated to nothing but the war on terror and making the US a safer place, yet we are still attacked by terrorist in our homeland.. He needs to go because his policies are ineffective..  Being attacked again in our homeland would prove this beyond a reasonable doubt.. I understand this would still not be enough for some of you to lose faith in him..

and Lazs, please tell me you still dont believe they attack us because they are jealous of us..

There have been terrorist attacks against the US for much longer than just 4 years. They didn't stop when we sat around and did nothing and they won't go away if we relent now.
