That was the plan... that was at A5, knits were trying to get A4...
I knew when i started (hit film) that I already had no ammo. I was just hoping to tie some up to allow a better chance for the capture. knits did make the capture about 5 mins after i fionally went down.
this is what bugs me about the hamstards; people think they're using "tactics" and "stratergery" in trying to take a base when in actuality, it's nothing more than a loosely organinzed pigpile with a direct lemming trail between bases.
To effectively take a base, you really need to interdict the inbounds, thereby preventing them from slipping in (usually at alt) and tearing down to give the goon driver a good excuse to stop flying goons. I can't count how many times I have done exactly this.
I almost never ever see any side extending cap beyond the immediate vincity of the base being attacked. As a result you have a constant flow of inbound bogies with alt - most who simply tear down into the mess over the base instead of bypassing what is basically just a bunch of guys flying around looking for a vulch and hitting the lemming trail in mid-route (which is very effective at disrupting things).
i like a good furball or base capture as much as the next guy, so this whole thing doesn't particularly bother me. But it does amuse me to no end to see such cluelessness at play.
