Poor Beetle,  in his alcohol fog he still struggles with comprehension.

Read carefully old man, I never said the USA was a great country for any of those reasons.

What I said was:

Quote
Doesn't matter much the size, the worth can be measured in many ways.

Pick any way you choose to measure a countries worth, make up one of your own, I certainly don't care. But the percentage of the earth surface that any country covers really doesn't mean squat to me or about anyone else.

I just offered as a suggestion that you could choose many ways to make your own determination of a countries worth, that landmass is about the most menial way to measure a country.

Please have someone sober help you understand that concept.  Then show me where I said we were superior by any of those values.  Of course you can't so you will ignore that challenge, as you have so many in the past.

Thanks for including the following:

Quote
I'm glad you mentioned education. In point 5 of your list above, there should be no apostrophe - ie. its not it's. I guess your own education didn't stretch to that.

When someone has to stoop so low as to attack my spelling, grammar or typing, I see that as a surrendering of the argument.  The need to nitpick these things means you no longer have a valid point to make.

Thank you.

I accept your surrender Cornwallis.

Ok... I have spent time with beetle.  He is a good guy and cheerful.. he is well traveled and fortunate enough to continue to do so.   He is good company.

We spent the day shooting a variety of handguns that would all be impossible for a mere subject in his homeland to shoot much less own... he is I am sure struggling with the fact that he had a blast and that not one of these firearms ran off on a killing spree of it's own while he was present..

given enough time around me I am sure he would come to realize his country has lied to him on the subject.

he likes people.  He enjoys the company of Americans but... even with all his travel I think he finds us odd.  He knows that we have an inferior system of thought and government but can't understand why he has such a darn good time here.

Beetle,

The fact is I have grown tired of all our nonsense.  Was a time I enjoyed it, couldn't wait to see what you wrote so I could counter.

Now it's just grown old, and I am sure everyone else is tired of being exposed to it.

I am going to stop attacking you, as I have noticed you stopped your attacks on the USA, by and large, a while ago.

If you care to stop, fine.  If not,  your choice.

Bah come off it, Dago. "Attacks" on the USA? Like saying the beer is like piss, and the cars are crap? Hardly what I would call "attacks". I don't see how anyone could be so easily offended. Or are you a binary bigot, polarised between "you're with us or you're against us"? Yeah, that sounds about right for you.

I have never "attacked" the US on this board. I have never commented on US politics or criticised Bush, so I don't see why you should get so worked up about my posts. Best way to stop USA Bashing is for the US to stop bashing the rest of the world. OK?

Lazs! Yes, we had a very good day and it was a pleasure meeting you and everyone else. I'd already met Funked about three years earlier. Your guns were well behaved and did not run off on a killing spree, although that .45 semiauto/1911 thing did its best to jump out of my dainty girly hand. You were an excellent instructor - I hope we were worthy students.

so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is
miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit
and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ...
So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass

Now Ed, you know if the Republicans do it, its "war for oil".  If the demos do it, "it needed to be done".

Big differance I think is the demos posture and make the talk, the Republicans took the action, walked the walk, as they say.

I certinly don't consider myself as USA Bashing nor would I think anyone else here does. We just think Bush is an idiot. It was bad enough when he decided to pull out of all those world treaties at the start of the term let alone invade another nation without world support. US is a long and trusted friend of New Zealand and will always continue to be so.

I just think the Bush Bashing comes across as Anti American alot of the time. Which it isn't. People outside of the US just see him as an idiot and the biggest risk to world peace.

The war on terror was going well until the invasion fo Iraq, Bush had all that world support after 9/11 and for Afghanistan and then blew it on a unjust war of choice.

IMHO the world and the US (contrary to Bush's constant claims that it isn't) is alot unsafer today due to the handling of Iraq and the greatly increased hatered towards America and the rest of the world in general by extremest Muslims from it. In that area they have gained alot  in resources and new personal as the anger in that region towards the US and it's allies increases.

For all the good you try and do as far as building schools, roads, hospitals, whatever to try and look good. It's all blown by one event like the Prisoner abuse or a bomb that's accidently dropped on a wedding.

It's only going to get worse in Iraq, at the very best Bush has created a problem like Israel but on a much larger scale that will last for decades. Untill the day the US just pulls out. Dropping the country into a state of Anarchy which will last untill the next hard line dictator steps up or the Iranians just take it for themselves.

Invading a country is the easy part, getting out is hard.

A lot of people think so, and I am certainly starting to wonder.   My opinion is that the historical review a number of years from now will be a better indicator than what we see now.  Retrospection is often a very handy too.

It's when you post about a differant countries leaders that you are considered bashing.

I admit guilt to that on a few occasions myself.

I swear I didnt know all those people said that, even back to the clinton years.I work for a living, can only read so much.It never dawned on me to search previous quotes to see what the demos said.I just thought they were always against it.Damn I am so angry,I cant express how I feel.We have wonderfull people fighting...for what? I thought they supported our troops, but they dont.Man I feel like I been hit between the eyes with a brick. These people are trying to tear a good man down, and it doesnt matter how. These people gave clinton their full support, they were not always against it.Did they pretend to support Bush, then turn on America like turn coats, what about our military whos watching out for them. Those people are part of our leaders, man nobody cares about the deceit. This isnt about getting sucked off,its about our kids fighting and dieing for us.Half of America has bought this, why isnt this reported .Am i really that far off base it seems so easy to see now,but look at gixer post its as if he didnt even read your post edbert. And half of A merica believes this.My son is 6 ft 21/2 inches solid build talked to me about quiting his good job to join...I was proud but I dont know man I dont know.kerry would be his commander,I remember veitnam, dont kill to many or to few ammo ration, take same hill 10 times, dont shoot back u might hurt their little religous prayer things they hid behind. No way man not my son no way die in prime of life for these guys and the half of america that follow them.I thought it was differant man but it is worse.I know I got to think about this but no way.
