I see Wild Bill has posted  on WB bbs today that "something good" has happened with the patent thing, but he can't talk about it.

As requested...

All,

If you have not been following the press releases, some good things are happening at IENT.

We have received an LOI from a European financial consortium to develop a new online game over the next 30 months. This financing will allow us to grow our staff and pay our overheads. This contract is for $8.5 million.

This will be good for WarBirds development too.

This financing will free up resources we can spend on WarBirds.

We also have some great news on the Patent front. We are not allowed to talk about it but it is exciting. The Patent should begin to generate some significant revenue for us in the near future. (If a game is online, it is probable it utilitzes our Patent.)

We are discussing WarBirds licensing in 3 Asian countries.

We are also working on a new corporate financing to enable IENT to get back to the OTC market and have funds for marketing WarBirds and all our products.

Stay tuned. The Fall should be fun.

Wild Bill

I'm sure Sony and Mircrosoft will roll right over and start issuing checks.

So did the iEN people also invent the smoothing code that AW used?   You know, the stuff that was in use before their money-grubbing corporate entity or its products even existed?

Lol @ greedy corporate jerks.  People like that provide ammo for the communists.

The only scary thing is that all too often these cases are decided by old men who don't know the difference between C-drive and CMOS so it could go either way.

To be honest, that's what scares the hell out of me. Old men or not, the idea that this could have a negative impact on our game just gives me Shivers.

It should be interesting, considering a good deal of AH2's development (if not all of it) took place after the initial patent issue came up, hopefully the game was designed around the potential legal problem.

I don't know enough about this case, or patent law in general to make an educated comment, but it does bug me. Once School starts up again, I'll see what I can find.
