My TM stuff wouldn't work after switching from Mac to PC, so I gave the Logitech Extreme sticks a try. Broke the handle clean off the things within 2 weeks, on two joysticks inna row. Bah. CH is the only way to go.

Logitech = Lottacrap. Same story...had one 3 weeks before it broke. CH is top line stuff, but you pay dearly. Saitek seems to be worth the money. I'm happy with my MS Sidewinder 2 FF.

I'm pissed that MS stopped producing the sidewinder sticks, they were the only decent low cost option with enough buttons, programming options and reliabilty. I never had to calibrate mine and never had spiking problems like I hear other brands do.  The handle had fantastic ergonomics as well.

I've had mine for a few years and the hat is just now beggining to die so I'm looking for a replacement. Looks like it will be ebay time as I really dislike all the current options.

I hate the X45 joystick handle top button and hat layout and the pinkie trigger is annoying.

I love the Logitech 3D Pro layout and feel, it has tons of buttons and in fact I think its perfect for me as it has all the extra buttons I wanted on my sidewinder stick but everything I have heard about reliabilty is terrible.

The cyborg sticks are plain weird to me and I dont like their throttle..

Bah!

Thanks for input guys...I'm gonna go shopping and look at some sticks and see which ones I like...

Then I'll either ebay it or find it discounted somewhere...

I would LOVE to get the TH Hotas Cougar setup...but man..that's a LOT of money...

Found one on Ebay with CH pedals...but $300+ is a little out of my range if I'm not sure that I'm gonna stick it out...

My MS Sidewinder FF2 dumped on me 2 days ago. I had a 2 year warranty on it from Best Buy and it was still under warrenty but they put you through allot crap to get the money back.

Had a Logitech 4 years ago... never again...it was a piece of chit.
Logitech Digital Wingman Extreme is better as a friggen paper weight now.

or every other sortie at least .

For the wingmans that bust the centering post off ... i just open the stick up and install this ( official Roscoroo should be patented )  metal post welded to a washer and it fixes that problem right now ... (well until the thing wont hold a cal anymore)

Suggestion.

CH Products the way to go.

Never broke one in many years of simming, pass them down to my Son.

First...get USB Combat Stick or Fighter Stick.  Plenty of buttons to program.  Don't have to get the pedals or throttle right away and the Ch stick will still be good to go by the time you purchase either the Pedals or Throtle or both.

In the long run you'll save money by purchasing CH.  You won't need to replace it as often by a longshot.

I use the Evo and really like it w/ the following caveat:  The base is broad enough but it is too light and the surface that contacts the desktop is too small so it slides around a bit.

I suggest you stick with Logitech in spite of the fact that everyone else in this thread knows it's crap then. Logitech and Voss. Cause Slo knows better. :D :aok

For the first 1 year I shot all of you sissies down with that stick.  It is now 4 years old and being used by a squaddie.   It's the Indian not the Arrow.  Product abuse is one thing, wear and tear is another.
