New James Bond?

with Pierce Brosnan quitting, who do you think will be the next James Bond?

I hope Jude Law (that guy from enemy at the gates) gets it.

I just don't see Jude Law in the role.

I'd vote for Viggo Mortensen.  I know he's not British, (born in NYC) but most Americans think he's a Kiwi due to some movie he made down there recently.

Russell Crow and Clive Owen  would be good choices.

If they want to go with a Roger Moore type direction choice (a very bad move if they do) they could always pick Hugh Grant.

I just hope they pick someone younger than 35.  Connery was in his early thirties when he made "Dr. No".

The whole Bond series has forgotten it's roots since Connery stepped out of the role. The series stopped being a series of gritty, political thrillers laced with risque' humor, and became superficial bubble-gum adventures with the ever charming(but boring) Roger Moore.

It got even worse with the films with Timothy Dalton. Dalton could've been a great Bond, but he was saddled with bad scripts and bad plots in his films. At least he was more menacing than Roger Moore.

Brosnan is an ideal Bond, but the films have transitioned into being dominated by special effects instead of focusing on the story.

For me, the only Bond films worth repeated watching are the original Connery films, along with George Lazenby's only effort, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

Jude Law was awesome in Enemy at the Gates. I can vaguely picture him as Bond, just vaguely.

Yeah gotta agree with banana here, I do have to say "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is definately one of my top 3 Bond films easily. Dr. No and Goldfinger are 1 and 2 respectively IMO, but all the old ones are still the best.

Roger Moore's "For Your Eyes Only" and "Octo*****". Dalton's first was ok (living daylights?), and bronson's were decent but too much of an action movie.

I would have to give the nod to Corey Feldman...

Because, who would suspect it? I mean, he is supposed to be a spy and that's his job!

Hugh Jackman is not menacing enough when he doesn't go on his "Wolverine rampage mode" (See Van Helsing too).

Ewan McGregor is your typical "nice guy". He wouldn't fit as a cold assassin.

Clive Owen is perfect in terms of looking menacing yet elegant. Perhaps he seems too laid back and lacks a certain charisma... dunno.

Hope Brosnan does one more... but with a decent script, please. He showed he can do better with his "savoir faire" in "The Thomas Crown affair" than in most Bond movies.

Have you guys already forgotten about Adrian Paul ("Highlander" tv series)?  I think he'd be a good blend of Connery's hard-edged ruthlessness and Brosnan's polished demeanor.

Check out his latest news.
