I just hope they pick someone younger than 35. Connery was in his early thirties when he made "Dr. No".
The whole Bond series has forgotten it's roots since Connery stepped out of the role. The series stopped being a series of gritty, political thrillers laced with risque' humor, and became superficial bubble-gum adventures with the ever charming(but boring) Roger Moore.
It got even worse with the films with Timothy Dalton. Dalton could've been a great Bond, but he was saddled with bad scripts and bad plots in his films. At least he was more menacing than Roger Moore.
Brosnan is an ideal Bond, but the films have transitioned into being dominated by special effects instead of focusing on the story.
For me, the only Bond films worth repeated watching are the original Connery films, along with George Lazenby's only effort, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".
