The problem is that being "socially" liberal never stays that way.  It always ends up with grabbing more money out of everybody else's wallet.

I figured it was kind of different up there as far and the lib/conservative thing went.

Was just wondering why you guys cared so much about what goes on down here.  I dont mean that in a snotty way, just sincerely curious.

Because you have all the ****ing nukes.

:D

I didn't call care as much as I do before Iraq.  I used to just think that Bush was a tard.  A tard without much of a mandate from the US citizens.  I still found US politics and social issues interesting.  You guys are a powerful nation and right next door.

But my interest became much greater because of Iraq.

No.  But I don't trust him not to start another ill concieved and justifitied war.  And he has been screwing us when it comes to "free trade".

I also think it's a bit off the deep end.

But Libertarians are socially liberal. They don't want the government involved in any aspect of private lives. That also includes the intrusion of government taxation.

No, it doesn't.

Welfare = fiscal policy.

Gay marriage = social policy.

Prohibition = social policy.

Censorship = social policy.

Prosititution = social policy.

My cost of living "directly" goes up.  I become "directly" less safe.

Just put them up there on the unused shelf right next to your brain.

However I am not a liberal so I won't say that.

Ask one of these "socially liberal but fiscally conservative" canuckistanians what they think about socialized health care.
Yeah I told ya so.
"Socially liberal but fiscally conservative" is a liberal cop-out, a Kerryesque Waffleism.
