Okay, I'll give you that Mr. Lars. Now... what did she mean by "Un-American traits". Fair question? I think so. If she understood that's what she said, she should have taken the time to clarify both her words and meaning.

Again, leave her alone if she isn't going to be active in politics. If she is, she'd better get a lot better at it.

Good point Mr. Lars...  and nice and convenient how the reporter misquotes himself by making it look like he just said 'what do you mean?' What he did was a reporter trick of repeating back something with a more sensational twist and then he if the person doesn't notice... they will use those words to quote them. Works great for sports reporters trying to get a decent quote after the boring 100th game of the season, but it is surely a weasily thing to try without a willing interviewee.

I'd be interested in a clarification of "Un-American traits". I suppose others might be, too.

She should have called the reporter a "major league a--hole."

I suspect, given her background, "un-American trait" probably means someone disagreed with her, thus denying her right to "free speech".
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

So you are saying her call for civility is defining herself? Well, OK. I don't see the hypocrisy. I will credit you the liberal and the elitist tags though.

Its nice how lefties get all shook up about activities vs traits..  You know that distiction was irrelevant in the context of the qoute..

Plus Teresa denied even saying "Un-american"  so she is pretty much lying to save her bacon there after the bizzare speech she gave..

That would be Betty Ford. If your a republican addict it is considered chic.

Well, rpm, when it comes to flinging dung the dung flinging exploits of the dung flinging right can only be matched by the dung flinging exploits of the dung flinging left.

There has certainly been some flung dung on these bbs lately.

Famous saying from the Chinese philosopher Confusion:

"He who accuses others of flinging dung should first smell his own fingers."

How many of you actually saw the tape?  The reporter wasnt pushy at all... hell he was polite for a journalist.

He just asked her to explain what she meant by 'un-American.'

She threw a hissy fit like a 6 year old, said "I didnt say that" numerous times and then insulted him.  It was the kind of behavior one would expect if nap time were cancelled... not if the wannabe first lady was asked a question three months before an election.

End of story.  Tomato Lady got pwnt by a lowly reporter who didnt even have a trust fund.

Exactly, she started flipping after the first time he asked the question.

Toad has made the most important point on the issue AFAIC... Teresa might very well be a liability if the DNC can't reign her in. I for one am not looking for a queen, and I don't appreciate a condescending attitude towards "the little people".  I don't know her well enough to lay that on her, but I did see the tape, and I didn't see anything there that she couldn't have taken care of with a few words. Very unstatesmenlike on her part.

Funny to see the librals try and spin this because they read an "op-ed"

I saw the actual tape on the news.....she said "Un-American" the r

The reporter asked what she meant by it.

She denyed saying it.

He corrected her.

She said "shove it"

Definatly first lady material......

and I'm so glad there are no longer any non represented portugese feeling left out (because I know there are sooooo many of them in the US) after her speech at the libralcon.
