Despite death threats from our left wing friends, he still hasn't got an answer from Teresa! ;)

He won't get an explanation or apology. Don't think the fun has ended with dear Teresa, though; there's lots of campaigning left to do, and she appears dead set on speaking her mind, however unclearly.

So, quoting a person about their own speech is considered "pushy" ?  Just asking...

If Kerry's campaign is smart, we won't see much of the Missus. I don't think she "plays well" in many of the places he needs to pick up votes.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

That just confirms it, you really don't read the stuff you cut & paste. He didn't quote her about her speech--this is the VERY FIRST SENTENCE:

"A week ago tonight, I asked Teresa Heinz Kerry a simple question here: "What did you mean?""

Vote the issues indeed.

Whats funny is a hypocrit elitist rich-***** (cough) liberal defining herself publicly and getting called on it.

No, she doesn't.

I want to leave her out of it; families are non-combatants. If however she wants to do the circuit and be involved the gloves are off, especially if she is modeling herself in the "Hillary" mold. I'll pass on an heiress telling me I have too much money and I should give it to the poor.

He asked her "What do you mean" and then proceeded to quote her.  Didn't you see the tape?

Huh? From the SECOND PARAGRAPH of the story:

"Moments earlier, Mrs. Heinz Kerry had talked of "un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits" that supposedly have crept into our political discourse. Her talk before the Pennsylvania delegation was, in part, a plea for a return to civility."

So you are saying her call for civility is defining herself? Well, OK. I don't see the hypocrisy. I will credit you the liberal and the elitist tags though.

(hint: Rip--you didn't post a tape, you posted an op-ed article which you obviously didn't read.)

Her answer was unpolitic, his badgering was rude.

End of story.

To paraphrase what I understand.

She said, "Un-Pennsylvanian....un-American."

He asked, "What do you mean 'un-Pennsylvanion and un-American?"

She states, "I didn't say that."

He replies, "Yes you did.  What excactely did you mean?"

She retorts, "I didn't say that.  Shove it."

I seems that he was simply asking for clarification of what she meant.  I don't find the reporter out of line by repeatedly asking what she meant by what she had just said.

I do find her response out of line along with all the people that are defending her and attacking (e-mail, vulgar language on the street, vulgar phone calls) the reporter.

[edit] If she didn't want to discuss what "un-etc" meant then could have simply could have told him, "No comment" and moved on.  To deny having said something that she had just said seems a little kooky IMO

That won't play well in the heartland, where people still value manners.

She scares me. Does anyone remember Olivia Dukakis and wasn't she the one that drank rubbing alcohol? Ms. Kerry reminds me of an alcoholic, still in denial.

That isn't the exact language she used....this is just a RW tactic that is so prevelant these days.

She said 'unamerican traits' but was quoted as saying 'unamerican activities' in his Op-Ed invoking an image of McCarthyisim, I'd be pissed too.

He's just a whiney hack of the type the right seems to love.
