It's a fair question if it was revelant to the discussion.

THK's fight with that paper goes back to when she was approached to fill in and complete her husbands term, she refused and that is when the paper started their campaign against her. A campaign filled with misquotes, misrepresentations and outright falsehoods about her philanthropic work, some of which has even showed up on this UBB.

It will be refreshing to have a First Lady who's not the model of a Stepford wife.

It is pretty relevant, since she had just stated it, regardless of who asks the question.  He is a reporter, she is answering questions (in theory).

Well youre close.  Election results aside, Kerry is more of a Stepford Husband.  Semmingly a Democrat trait as of late.  ;)

To tell you all the truth.  Theresa balked at a question and handled it wrongly, she lied.  Now the Dems do not see a problem with it, because their party has no morals anymore.

Drop the subject, this will all be settled in 3.5 short months....

Ozark-

I am careful to qualify my remarks. It may very well be Teresa was shoved on stage by her husband's political ambition. I hope she stays the heck off the scope, because if Kerry does win the less she speaks, the  better. If on the other hand she decides to be another Hillary, well, that's not going to fly with me...

Mr. Lars-

I know nothing of her fued with the paper, nor do I frequent this BBS with enough regularity to know anything about it. I am definitely not looking for things to pick her apart on, but let's face it, she didn't handle that well at all.

Kieran-

I’m the last person to point a finger at others. It’s just typical BS during the election year.

Remember:
-It rhymes With "Witch".
-Lee Atwater, before he died of cancer in 1991, apologized to Michael Dukakis and others for his “naked cruelty.”

It’s just about money, hate and power. I feel both sides are guilty as Sin! I dislike them both equally! :aok <<< I hate this little guy too! But it works here. :p

How is it not relevant?  He asked her to elaborate on those "un"-terms she used and she denied even using those terms.  If those terms were not relevent then what were they doing in her speech.

For the sake of argument and blame lets say that she wasn't familiar with the scripted speech and hubby wanted her to speak for him.  Once again, she could have very easily said, "No comment" rather than denied having said something that she clearly did say and then get rude with a reporter.

Fight with a paper or not she didn't handle herself very well.  "She speaks her mind", says Kerry.  How can he handle foreign affairs when he can't even handle domestic (wife) affairs?

It's 1968 all over again!
Remember Nixon's secret plan?

Did you see George Stephanopolis accuse him of acting like Nixon on Front Line?

That Nixon had advertised a "secret plan" to end the war during the 1968 campaign is a commonplace of Nixon lore, but this is a myth, owing mostly to a wire service story that intuited such a plan. Nixon said no such thing; the phrase "secret plan" was used by a questioner to Nixon in a New Hampshire town meeting, but attributed to Nixon in a UPI story that was only belatedly corrected. But Nixon had to treat the issue carefully; it hardly served his purpose to refute the story and say he had no plan. Instead Nixon said, quite reasonably, that he didn't want to undercut President Johnson's negotiations through any campaign statements he might make. In fact Nixon wasn't sure what to do about the war.

It worked for him in 68.

That's a little short sighted isn't it?

Will she tell the next foreign diplomat that stops in the White House to 'shove it' also because she doesn't like his questions, attitude, or because there is a fued?

Mr. Lars, I usually respect your opinions but this arguement seems a little short on sense IMO.

I never mentioned the clinic. Typical spin doctoring.

Was I wrong in stating Betty Ford was an alcoholic (while her husband was CIC)? All I said was republican addicts are chic. The right wingers are quick to make slanderous accusations and all the lemmings cheerily hop on the bandwagon. I state a fact and it's the mean old liberal picking on the poor holy right.

I agree I'll be happy when the election is over, but if Kerry wins a wave of whine never before seen on the intardnet will flow thru this BBS like **** thru a goose. Of course when it happens they won't be anti-american by speaking out against the president (as they love to label those that do now), they will be patriots exercising their rights.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
