shorting the name in lights
« on: August 03, 2004, 06:35:44 PM »
Just a thought, systems statement is too long sometimes,  so when landing kills, the whole persons name and their squad name  cannot be seen , usually the squad is blocked, not always depending on what they fly, length of name etc.... I was just thinking if just a few words were deleted, ones really not needed IMO...  make it, ? , short to the point, say like....  Skuzzy - 16 kills - me110g2 of (Squad name).    then this way the squad name and anything the Co may add can be seen   , other wise its looks like this at the end.......   of dr                                   ....

Skuzzy  landed 16 victories in a me110g2 of  (squad name)
Skuzzy-16kills-me110g2 of (squad name)
lots shorter...
everyone knows, you dont get your name in lights, unless you land them, in what ever you are in, so a few words could be dropped. If the almighty people at AH see it the same way. :)
lmao!!! I had down 6 kills, but I figured if im using skuzzy as a example I better make it look good, hope 16 is enough.  :p

Heh, not to get off topic, but I am still learning and in the
"frustrated" mode of this learning curve, I as in my usual
Spit-mobile when a 190 came in to dogfight with me.
He managed to get me into a loop fight (knew it was wrong to
attempt this) and after two loops I was toast.  This added
to my already low esteem.  The kill message came up telling
me "Shane" was my executioner.  I didn't know who this was but relayed it to my squadies.   Between 2 squadies and another
friendly they were able to bring him down.   Squadies told me
not to take it to  heart as, "Shane plays for free!  He's with
HiTech"   .... thought came to mind that being killed by HiTech
isn't very good for public relations :)

HiTech and Shane are not ... I repeat ... are not ... one in the same. As far as Shane playing for free ... probably pure speculation on their part and part urban myth.

As far as loosing the loop duel with the 190 ... do you have "Stall Limiter" turned on. The reason that I ask is that the chances of a Spit loosing a loop duel to a 109 are very slim ... unless of course you have "Stall Limiter" turned on.

The "Stall Limiter" prevents you from using the complete range of motion in your stick deflections to prevent one from stalling. This will definately limit your ability to turn inside planes when you need to.

I think its a good idea to cut out a few words.

Yes, I had the stall limiter on.  Thanks for the tip.
Secondly, my appologies are in order to Shane and Hitech.
My statement was based on what I was told, and as far as the
comments made, therein, were purely pokin some friendly
fun.  No harm meant or intended.  Nice kill on me, Shane!

Shane is just another player like anyone else.   He isnt HT or associated with HTC in anyway Iv ever heard of.

Slapshot has the right of it.

He may just be a player but not like anyone else, just ask him.  :lol

I agree on the short kill message too.

Yes shorten the kill message... and better yet make it were you need 3 kills or more to have your name in lights.
