Arthur Clark had an interesting idea in one of his novels.   The selection of the president was done by a semi-intelligent program.
This type of technology is present.  Rule based programs are quite successful.  There is at least one program I know a little about that diagnoses illnesses at least as well as the average physician.  They had a program which evaluated loan candidates, but its use was eventually discontinued due to complaints by certain groups.
So, to answer Grun's question, I suggest that we should not propose a candidate, but rather we should compile a list of requirements which are non-partisan.
