Let us break bread together
« on: March 16, 2000, 01:21:00 PM »
Hey everyone,

I think it's time we decide to embrace those people over in AGW and walk arm in arm as bretheren of the same cloth, so to speak.

There are many good people over on AGW that feel offened by some former WB fliers that have gone back to say their peace about what they think is wrong with WB, and what is right with AH.

I'm asking you all to take the pledge with me, right now, to refrain from bad-mouthing Warbirds either here, or on AGW. Those of us who are flying both(I fly only the S3 events there now) are being lumped into the same group of people who left WB because they have an axe to grind with someone or something connected with WB or iEN.

We have a great community of people here, and so does AGW. And each board has a few, um..shall we say, misunderstood posters(or plain old "Jerks", if you want to be honest). Let's not ruin it by building AH up by tearing WB down.

Now, I know some of you who left WB have a good reason for leaving, and I have no beef with that. I have my own reasons for turning the majority of my time over to AH, but I'm going to refrain from "airing my dirty laundry" in a public forum. For the sake of those of us who want to be able to post on both boards, I'm asking you to do the same.

After WW2 Online is released, there will be four WW2 era sims on the market today(AH, WB, WW2OL, AW), and many of us may be flying more than one. In fact, I think it is the minority who will be only playing one of them.

Geez, just realized that I'm getting awfully preachy here. Sorry about that. but it's just that I care about both communities, and I think it's time for the hatred to end, and the healing to begin. After all, we all share the same interest, do we not?

Please, let us stop pointing the finger, and start taking the high road. Perhaps in due course, we can all be friends that simply happen to fly different sims.

<raises glass> A toast, to my bretheren on every online WW2 flight sim.

Well I'm probably one of those your talking about banana. Didn't mean to catch you in that firestorm, but  I did have a few things to say. Not that anyone listened.

But for your peace of mind I'll agree.
As a matter of fact all iEN bookmarks along with AGW are history.

LOL Westy!

Ghost, old buddy. I didn't mean that you were a jerk. Far from it. You definately had some issues with iEN, and I'm not saying I disagree with you. But, when all is said and done, the posters on AGW are not employees of iEN, just like we are not employees of HTC. We're all WW2 flight enthusiaists, and we need to stop beating each other up.

Btw, I've known Ghosth for quite some time in WB, and let me say that he is a top-notch human being. Wish there were more like him!

More wine!

AGW is a great place to do some reading and posting.  Discussing all sorts of topics.

If the subject is controversial, so much the better.  I wont refrain from giving my opinion nor will I refrain from discussing things that I disagree with.

I enjoyed immensely my time in WBs and still find that I am interested in what goes on there.

We have the O club. If someone wants to vent about there old sim, I think we have reached the point where the posts should go there. AH has nothing to do with the others. Whats the point of bashing a sim here, That we are not flying.

Jagdnine, beautiful signature!

Vulcan: ROTFLOL!

I can admit I've made  the mistake of posting what "was new lately" over on AGW, mistakenly in the general topic area, never  bad mouthed WB's once...only defended AH when THEY started bad-mouthing AH.  I have  since moved any "whats new" topics to "Off-topic" area, still get flamed there too.

One  thing is for  certain, most people come back  to these flight sims for  the community  rather than the software type.

I've learned  one lesson, if  someone over  on AGW posts a farewell, give  them a "Welcome!" over on this BBS, not AGW, hehe.
