ME/BF109T CV Plane
« on: August 17, 2004, 01:24:39 AM »
not sure how to start this so here goes .

In AHII MA their are some Squads who fly only a certian plane set , such as the Jabostaffel .
We only fly LW planes , now what im getting to is would it be possible to add another plane set to the CV , such as the ME/BF109T , which was a carrier based plane that the LW utilized in WWII , as it seems it had Folding wings , Dive Flaps , and a tail hook , was very lite and could take off at short distances and was pretty much a modified  ME/BF109Emil .

The reason I am suggesting this , is the simple fact that if our CV is near a base , and some of us would like to go and help take that base  , or even Defend the CV , and the nearest land base to up from is some distance away , it is somewhat difficult , even though it can be done and sometimes is.

So how hard would it be to add an additional LW 109T to the CV plane set for us LW pilots ?  :D

Fair enough.

IMO the 'resemblance to real-life WW2 situation' of CV battles have been ruined already - since the implementation of the Seafire.

So there's no reason not to add the Bf109T. It's not like it was a prototype late-war superplane.

Edit: it would be nice to see more CV aircraft, but I don't think the 109T should be in the line up. There was a Naval version of the P38 with folding wings but it doesn't belong on the AH CVs either.

109T never saw action from a carrier.. since the Germans didn't have any.  It did see landbased action though, in Norway I think.

but it did see action in Africa and it was built , even though it didnt see action off of a CV , still would like to have it , along with more planes you can up off of a carrier.

It never saw action as a Bf109T.  The navaliziation was stripped out of it and it was essentially a Bf109E that saw action.

The Seafire we should have is the much better Seafire Mk III that saw heavy use in the Med and Pac theaters.  The Seafire Mk IIc we have was very short lived before having their engines replaced with more powerful engines.  In short we have the worst Seafire built.

IIRC the last dogfight of WWII was between Seafires and A6Ms.

but the purpose of his post was an axis (LW) plane being able to fly off a CV. we (the JB's) would love to have this, but it is all up to the great and mighty HiTechCreations people.

all we can do is ask politely.

I think up to now HT has been reluctant to add models that had a very limited production run. Even if in the game it would be very little outwardly different from another model and it only required flight characteristic changes.
If this wasn't the case we could have a whole slew of Me's, Fw's and Spits etc.
I have used Lightwave, Imagine and Gmax in the past and would be willing to create to additional models, or modify existing models to provide different variants (free), but there is no way I can afford Multigen.

YW 35.. the more i think about it, the more i really would enjoy a 109 off the CV's. in the past there were scenarios that the "enabled" i believe it was the 109G2 off the CV. possibly the 109F4.

either way there is a nitche for it in AHII, and in the scenarios. i forgot exactly where, but in the "scenario" it was maybe italian carrier?? dunno. either way it would be fun for us luftdweebs. hehehehe

Technically any fighter can up from a CV, and land, regardless of whether or not it has a hook. It's just a matter of finding a cv that allows it. CT will be hard to find (if EVER) a LW cv. MA would yield more luck
