Wardog,

Not many words can express what happens when someone loses a dear friend  . Salute to both of you, and may fond memories bring you strength.

Wardog.
Condolences.
Dont know why but your post made me think of the Rush song Hero.
Our four legged friends really are unsung heros on our lives. They deserve the best we can do for them, even if that leads to very hard decisions.

Reading these posts have brought a tear to my eye.  I remeber Ralphy from a long time ago when I was growing up.We ran through corn fields together and played Space Dog together.  I was the captain of a crashed ship and Ralphy was the evil Robo Wolf that would tackle me when I was found.  He passed away a few years back but I keep his memory alive every day.  I think of old times and of hard times when he was there for me.  When my parents yelled at me Ralphy would come to my bedroom and sit on the bed and lick my face and shake my hand.  He was a dear friend.  Now I have another little guy, his name is Cisco and he too has been there for me.  He helped me with Ralphy's loss and I have lots of memories with Cisco.  To me my little friends as you called them are in fact my little brothers.  I loved Ralphy and I love Cisco dearly.  But always remember this Wardog.  Zeus and Ralphy are probably up in heaven right now drinkin moonshine and howling at the moon, chasing females and havin a good ol time as they wait for us to once again be with them.

Tkx all..

For the kind words and support. My others Dogs were put to sleep because of old age. I never seen anything like what had happened to Zeus, The Cancer was so fast in taking him that i could see the difference in him each day over the last week.

He was put to sleep at 9:05am March 20th. I couldnt hold back the tears, but he will allways be my co-pilot no matter where he is.

Thx all and <S>................

My heartfelt sympathy at your loss...a true soul companion can never leave, can never be removed, and will never be forgotten.

With all due respect to WD and his dog, Skorpyon don't ya think maybe a P51 with a dog on the side of it is going just a bit far? LOL! Hate to sound like an a*s but this thread is a bit on the touchy feely side for me.

I've got 3 kids and we've had more animals than noah. The latest victim-er pet we had was a kitten who met its demise under the rear tire of my wifes car. We just picked up a puppy at the humane society a few weeks ago. I really liked it the first week or so but I'm sick of scraping sh*t outa my GD garage now. Maybe it will dissapear at the hands of my psycho neighbors soon, like the last 5 (count 'em 5) have myseriously dissapeared over a course of 4 years. (Time to take some action)

Oh well, I'm rambling now. Just tryin to lighten up the thread a little WD  .

Now jump in that P51 and resume killing my a*s!

hblair.....
It goes both ways man.. heh.. to some, they are pets, to others they are companions.  Obviously this one was the latter.  My "card" was simply a gesture of condolence, and done in the vain of WD's connection with his companion... his callsign, and even temporary squad name, being dedicated to this particular companion.  On the AH message boards we have recently witnessed losses that I think we would all regard as more significant, but this one I am sure was significant also.  Besides, I guess I'm just an old-fashioned, hopeless, sentimental bastard, who just so happens to like playin' with graphics programs.    Also, for a short while, WD was a squad-mate, and Hallmark doesn't make cards as appropriate as mine... hee hee.
Hasta.
