Dunno when/if WB3 will happen, but I was pleased to hear that they plan to include support for hardware acceleration for transformation and lighting calculations on the 3D card.

Looked for it & posted a query, but have yet to hear what HTC's plans for hardware T&L are.  Has anyone heard?

LOL Dotsie..

What use is a sim that you can't stay connected to? That has no discernable technical support? That charges its customers a premium hourly rate and does NOT deliver the goods in a timely and efficent manner?

When was the last time u saw its lead programmers or for that matter; the president of the oganization on line with the customers sharing info and answering questions? Why advertise those donutwoods pie-in-the-sky product for them HERE?

(not mad at yah.. figure yah just had a brain-fart.  )

Humph. Eye candy. Screw 'em. The rat bastids.

I think HT and Pyro still have iEN Stock, so they would want iEN to make some money also. (I don't know that this is true) and the Warbirds and DOA Launch bits, still bear thier names. (I think I remember seeing Doug Balmos on there, been a while since I have seen the credits screen.)

I've scan and read the article.  The article truly was a discussion of a new damage model.  The article never said any of the pictures of any airplanes were depictions from wb 3.0.

Someone on the agw BB stated that the image was a standard commercial download from a web site specializing in such picture (viewpoint.com).  I didn't check it out but maybe I will now.

PS:

The following below is from a post by someone on agw

"Incidentally, Hotseat has already admitted to using a commercially produced model over on the iEN Open Beta Forum. He also has some interesting things to say about drop tanks, amongst other things, check it out: http://lists.imagiconline.com/ubb/Forum32/HTML/000120.html"" TARGET=_blank>http://lists.imagiconline.com/ubb/Forum32/HTML/000120.html"

so it's not 3.0

Hiya TPFKAO!

How the hell ya been?

To answer your question about the migration, I sincerely doubt it as the majority of the squad are Mac users, if I recall correctly.  And AH does not support the Mac.

I'm still flying WBs, though I have joined another squadron, the 487th FS, 352nd FG.  I'm still technically a Pale Horse though, until they kick me out for lack of participation.    Honestly I don't even think they even realise I'm MIA.

I've been flying AH here and there for kicks, cause it's new and different.  It's still suffering from growing pains and I am going to have to make a hard decision soon, whether or not to keep my account when it goes pay-to-play next week.  I'm an not going to leave Warbirds, and I just don't think I can justify another $30/month bill.

Anyhoo, soon WWIIOL will be upon us and change the course of WWII simulator history forever.  And it's Mac friendly.

Cya around!

Hey Dotsie - great move and very sporting on your part to just be trying to stir up arguments and trouble between people concerning 2 companies that are trying to make a living, feed families, and earn a profit. Unlike virtual, these are real lives and real people. There are also stock issues involved with iEN.

There is nothing wrong with discussing the pros and cons of the various simulations both present and pending, but it pisses me off to see some jerk get in and start trying to stir up trouble because he apparently has nothing better to do.

Jerk? Trouble? Your reaction to my post and subsequent insult are uncalled for. I never said i wanted to start trouble. I was however trying to provoke argument.

" ar·gu·ment (ärgy-mnt)
A discussion in which disagreement is expressed; a debate. "

AH and WB3 are two sims attemting to capture the same market (online ww2 flying sim). They both want you to pay for this service so i think the least thing we should do as prospective customers is talk about why we should give our money to one and not the other.

Ill admit WB3 has not been released yet and my post was a bit of a troll (Its nice to keep the BB interesting   flame on baby) but the release is immenant and its about time the discussion got under way.

If your the type of fool who is willing to hand over his hard earned for an inferiour product (note: this is example, im not saying either is less than brilliant   ) then ur a bigger fool than your post suggests. And as for your take on the workings of capitalism and so on, i suggest you never try set up a bussines. "My kids gotta go to college" wont win over customers if ur goods are inferiour and overpriced. I not some die hard right wing business bloke. Quite the opposite but ill take healthy competion over some other ideas anyday. Its gonna mean neither company can sit back and the consumer will get the best deal possible. That means you and me. I still cant see what trouble i was going to stir up in my post, maybe sum1 can point it out to me.

Dotsie.
