How would the B-29 fare against the Ta152? Would its introduction make the Ta152 make sense?

That matchup is about the only WW2 (sort of) related reason I would want to have B29 in AH.

I think that the B29 would have an easy time with Ta152 in AH. Ta 152 has weak wings and weak anti buff armament that requires getting in close. It has poor acceleration so it wouyld take it a long time to re position for attacks against very fast B29s.

if a good 152 was in control of the 152 then hand down 152 even with a great bomber pilot.

Depends on which Ta152.

The Ta152H was developed in response to the B-29 but the Ta152C would have wrecked murder on the B-29.

It would be good in the hands of a skilled pilot.

The Matchup would be fun to see in Aces High, Although I'd rather go against it with a Me262, 163.

What alt and cruising speed does a loaded B29 have?

It would be very difficult for any fighter in AH to destroy a B-29 with a compatent pilot simply because of it's speed.

This aircraft will buzz along at 25K at around 350MPH+/- (Without looking up any performance numbers).

Intercepting it will be hard enough. Tail chases will have low closure speeds meaning more time in the bomber sights.

Even if you have alt. you may only be able to make one run and then you are chasing again.

Barring the 262 or 163 very difficult unless flown at low alt and what would be the point of that.

Your numbers would give the Ta152H-1 a 100 mph speed advantage. The B-29s were more susceptible to damage than earlier bombers like the B-17 and B-24. The pressurized hull for instance would make the German cannons much more effective in ripping the skin off the plane.

GScholz i got the same impression, but since i am the ubber n00b at that type of physic's, i wouldn'r know what the damage to the plane i would be. im but i think the damage would be fatal to say the least because doesn't when a pressurized cabin get a crack that opens up, the plane just about falls apart?

The hull was not pressurized, only the crew stations were > cockpit, middle gunners and rear gunner.

Hmm, the Ta 152 would be at least 300 km/h faster than a cruising B-29. Even the Japanese could catch it a number of times.

And, since when a bomber stands much of a chance against an interceptor?
