Turn off your monitor and close your eyes. Imagine a telephone conversation between you and the groom, where you are 100% completely honest with him about why you wish to back down from being his groomsman. Just run the tape. If at the end of it you don't think you've come across as a complete arse, then good times and happy snorkling.

How long you been diving?

I have over 1500 dives. Am a former certified commercial saturation diver and still occasionally recreationally dive. Used to cave dive like mad when I lived in Florida. Bit of advice, if you were going to Truk Lagoon, or the Galapagos Islands, I'd say, GO! you are talking about diving a freshwater lake... they are fun when the ocean is not available, but, let it go, the lake will always be there.
Make your friend happy and go to his wedding.

I had no clue somone could actually change their Birthday.....intersting.

Seriously.....woman at weddings/receptions are usually pretty easy game if that's your thing.

Wedding or scuba diving? Ugh, not much to choose from, huh. Might as well go to the wedding, at least you won't have to risk being eaten by a sea monster (bridesmaids don't count).

Maybe you can wear your scuba gear to the wedding and have the best of both worlds. As a side effect, there's the added bonus of having your own air tank to breathe out of when confronted by hordes of portly women wearing gallons of nauseating perfume.

QE II, Queen of England, Canada and some other places, was born in February or some winter month anyway, but the changed it to summertime to celebrate when there was better weather.

I have been involved in over 100 weddings...dam fun

btw...9-11 strange date to pick indeed...but it is a weekend and they will sell you that date forsure...too sensitive for me

Here`s the solution. Catch your friend out of town. Go buy some cheap wine and get his girl sloshed. Bag her. Tell your friend aabout it. Wedding canceled. Enjoy the dive trip and take your friend with you.
