Interesting, up to now they only found gas giant planets.

Probably a bit hot to support life (1000 F).  Possible it could have some archaic bacteria though.

Its just a matter of time before they find one in a similar orbit and size like ours. Its probably going to be a very long time but its just a matter of time.

Traveling that far is easy. Having a home when you get back is the hard part.

Sagan once did a whole study on possible life forms that might occur on a gas giant. You may not need a hard surface to sustain or evolve life.

I read about a theory once that truly amazed me.  I dont remember the name of it but it was thaught provoking to say the least....OK here goes.

The odds of inteligent life from different worlds ever meeting is remote at best given our current knowlege of physics.

If you do the math and figure the possibilitys of a civilization ever growing and evolving enough to develop space travle technology it eliminates most of them.

Think about our ability to destroy our planet and how many times over it can be done.....now think how close we as a world have come to total world destruction.

Now consider how big just our galexy is just to travel under current conditions and consider how old the universe is our existance as humans is miniscule at best.

Given all the chalenges facing a modern civilization and our current knowledge of space travel and the size of the univers the chances of two civilizations developing enough to meet at the same place at the same TIME is remote at best.

It was alot better written that my paraphrase but has anyone else heard this?

I heard somewhere that one of Jupiter's moons (or maybe Saturn's  ), is very similar to earth.  It is smaller, thus less gravity, and instead of oxygen in the air it is mostly hydrogen.

Not hydrogen but some dense flammable gas. Due to the low gravity and this dense atmosphere a man could actually fly on this moon  by flapping his arms and using of those funky wing contraptions you see in the old film clips.. :)
