A picture you don't see everyday
« on: August 29, 2004, 02:19:33 PM »
This was taken during Operation Sentry Eagle (training exercise) at Kingsley Air National Guard Base in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  The camera is not zoomed in.

There was a public road at the end of the runway.  I took many other picutres of fighters landing, but this F-15 was the most interesting.

F-15 has a tailhook? Cool Pic.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

F16 do as well RPM.

Most military (probably civ too) have a trap system to help stop airplanes that overun on landing.

I only know this because it is a check when performing "aircraft safe for mait."  the safety pin for it has to be inserted from left to right.

When I look back, it probably wasn't the best idea to be where I was.  Any problem the pilot had could of become my problem rather fast.  But hey, it got a unique shot.  There were also F-16s, F-18s, and F-4s.  I thought I would get a great shot of the KC-135 as it came back but it landed on the other end of the runway.
