I had to do a fresh install of AH when I was re-organizing my HD, and when I started to play tonight it was like I was playing a whole different game....a much less exciting one. The problem, I have been using much improved sound files for quite a while, and let me tell ya, the improvement in enjoyment is astounding with the improved sounds.
Took a while, but I found the backups I had made...a whopping 29 megs zipped, but worth every byte.
Each plane has different engine sounds, different guns sound unique, even the flaps and other ancilary sounds being upgraded really makes it more engrossing.
If you havn't gotten better sounds than the defaults....do yourself a favor GO GET THEM! I'd post them, but 29 megs is a bit much for most people to download, and I cant have that much traffic on my homepage. But if you look around you can piece together many good sounds (getting only the ones you need most).
