Hey Grits!

Well,  The RJO did not originate because the Rooks had their back against the wall.   It started because several Rook squad had a history of working together back in AW and took the concept here and things really took off.

When the Rooks were in pit of dispair,  We did ramp up RJO Activities and reached out to more squads and pilots and used it as a vehicle to build inter-squad raport.   It gave the Rooks a night every month or so when we could really fight back, even dominate at times.

I would agree with you,  perhaps some sundays squads should consider moving squads nights to an alternate night.   It would help to balance the arena,  but Who wants to be the one?   The CAF is a Thursday Squad,  But to help,  we wont change to Sunday ;)

If I am correct, there has only been one RJO since AH2 was launched,  maybe Dawg or Ghostdancer will remember for sure.

Someone later mentioned RJO Just SteamRolling the Arena.  That has happened plenty,  BUT it isnt always about Resets.   Sometimes a Squad just comes up with a really fun Idea for an RJO and everyone just goes along with it.     Id like to see the Rooks this winter attempt to get 1,000 B17s in the air for mass HQ Strike or something.   :)

Howdy!

Thanks, I wasnt around when the RJO started, so I didnt really know the origin only what I had heard from others.

My intent with this thread was to get some Rook squads to start discussing different options they might have to make the AH experience better for the entire arena. I dont really care, since I only fly the MA on the Wednesday squad nights, and if the CT is empty. I figured if a relatively non-entrenched Rook brought up the subject at least nobody can complain that I'm just a Bish/Knight whiner.

Only two since AH2 started, Nightmares hosted the first, AVG Flying Tigers the second.  We were set for the AirMegs to host one, but it kinda got back-shelved while this ENY thing got worked out.

Grimm, we had a REALLY evil idea from one of the RJO Squads on how to counter the ENY thingie I forgot to copy you on but that I thought was great!  It was pretty far out there and some more sensitive Rooks pulled us back off that long limb ;).

We will crank it up again soon :).

Cya Up!

We rarely have RJO anymore, I believe we have had two since AH2 was launched, the last happened on the first weekend of the ENY thingy by sheer coincidence. The simple fact is Sundays are just a good night to fly for us and we still have alot of squads with their squadnights on Sundays primarily for that same reason. It's just the best night of the week for us to fly with considerations such as wives and children, etc. There has been some efforts made to switch some Rooks squadron's  squadnights to different nights of the week, it's working to some extent, our collective numbers are getting somewhat lower, relatively speaking, over time on Sundays. I don't believe we even broke 200 this past Sunday.

Rooks are too smart to make me their official spokesperson. I am one of the most hated and despised Rooks. My official duties include: waxing the JBs Fw190s, cleaning out our 'tool sheds' after Bishops come battle them and giving post-traumatic stress disorder therapy to our poor beleaguered sheep after a successfull invasion by the overly amorous Knights. ;)

RJO is a great way to show country unity. Why stop the "tradition" cause other folks cant get their squads together to do the same?

Its a team effort. Everybody has to want to do it or a large majority in any case. Why is it the Rooks fault they can pull this off and the Bish/ Knights cant?

Granted like others have mentioned an RJO night may have only truly happend twice since AH2, cant you say the unrequested organization is a carry over from RJO? Kinda one of those things you just end up doing.
