I have to ::::Gulp:::: agree w/ RPM. I got really tired of them asking for money from me every two weeks. I did write letters and such that they asked me to but the fact that they wanted more money and I never got my free hat/keychain that was promised made me kinda mad.

the larger the membership the less chance we will be trifled with. just that simple... if you don't want to support pro gun candidates or... you just don't like republicans then you probly shouldn't even be a gun owner in any case.

I'm a member of the NRA and I hardly ever get any nag letters in the mail. It probably happens mostly in those states where the anti-gun politicians are, ie blue America.

True. I had a friend who was a card carrying member of the aclu. He quit them because they weren't liberal enough.

I'd also like to add though that those folks should also carry a sign declaring that they have no use for guns and feel totaly secure knowing that law enforcement officials will always be a few minutes away from comming to their aid in time of need. It will also give me warning to stay far away from these folks.

I would go further and say that those who are rabid anti gun should say so with a sign on their front lawn saying that "this is a gun free houshold. there are no guns available to the people who live here"

I think any gun owner or believer in our second amendment rights who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.

yes... I am aware of them. I guess I should rephrase and say that if yu do not support some group that defends our second amendment rights then you are a freeloader.

I do believe that because of it's large membership that the NRA is perhaps the most effective tho.

You obviously arn't a reenactor from that statement..

We do not point guns at eachother, we aim off to the sides..

And we do not use the guns as toys, we respect our weapons, and go to great lengths to insure safety.

Guns are not Toys, and we do not play with them...

Brass blanks are as dangerous as a real bullet, if the brass is old, it will shatter and send shrapnel down the barrel, thats why we aim away from people, but freak accidents happen, like when I was at an event, a guy was laying down, from a hit, and a german shot his rifle and the brass ricochetd off the gravel and into his bicep..

I used to be a member of both the NRA and the ACLU. Now I am a member of neither. Although I did buy a lifetime membership for my son the week he was born. The subscription to "American Rifleman" is good, but I am tired of the never ending junk mailings.
