Probably the one game I'd have to choose is Dungeon Master I played on my Amiga. First game that really had me addicted.

Gotta add Nethack.

The Metroid series.

Those are the games that made me realize that video games are another form of art.

Aside from exercising our puzzle muscle, a great game should be good musically, visually, literally and emotionally.

The first multiplyer PC game I ever played, even bought one of them new fangled 1200 baud modems for it. It was a beyatch to get it to hook up but once you did it was really fun.

Thanks for the tip on "Red Orchestra"! I am downloading the mod for UT2004 right now :D

Best three games ever for me, were:

X-COM: UFO Defense (The original in the series)

Civilization

Gary Grisgby's Pacific War

Ah, the early-mid 1990's. Those were the days.

*sigh*

Right on!

Im 17 hours into Metroid prime, and I'm stuck trying to fight the Omega Pirate, So I'm still pretty far from beating it, Think I'm 60% finished.

I was looking for cheats, In one it says you must beat the game in two hours..., to unlock the game in Hard Mode
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Space invaders and Pong of course.

That purple plane game Mane showed.
Blade Runner and Double Dragon also on Amstrad.
The first Doom without sound card, at first.

Out of this (or Another) world and Flashback, and Metroid on SNES.

When I saw a preview for Warbirds on a mag. Didn't get to play online flight sims till a few years later, but those images hypnotized me right away.
Chuck Yeager's AC for a while.

And the Wing Commanders :)

And Gato :)  forgot about that one...

System shock 2 and Final fantasy 7.

Being as I was 6 when we got our first computer and I needed simple games (what was complicated back in 1990?) F-19 Stealth Fighter took up all of my time.  Then we got a rip roaring P75 upgrading from our 286.  AW4W without a doubt was my introduction to online gaming.

So far we have:

F-19 Stealth fighter
AW4W

Then the first game I played online addictively:

Descent I and II *spent over 4 months at 3 hours a day playing*
Legends of Kesmai *was a simple RPG that none of the big MMORPG's can match for fun*

And then of course I was blown away most of any game by Civ III.  It's taken more time from me than any game ever has before or since.

And then there is Halo, best console game ever, 16 player 4 xbox lan games at my friends house usually ended in drunken fights, I loved it.
